Mine is reading oppositely too and if you rev the engine, it fluctuates a little. It's the ECU it seems however as it behaves fine with my other ECU plugged in.

My old Defender had alright but this one doesn't. Granted I'm using the old ones ECU in it as it's mapped for the turbo and bits and pieces but never was an issue before. Might try it's original ECU in it to see if it makes any difference though Still thinking it could be a bad ECU earth really...

Tested for earths on the ECU and engine and all seems good as have continuity from battery. Don't seem to have power to the small wire on the starter. Must try and jump the starter tomorrow to get it cranking at least. Anybody any ideas of what I should be testing for in the fuse box or...

Nope, nothing at all. slight faint click from the ignition barrel I think but lights don't dim or anything and nothing at all clicking the starter like you would with a dead solenoid

yep, used a jump lead straight from the battery to the starter and still no difference. Checked the earth under the seat for the ECU and boost box too and had a tiny bit of rust on it from dampness so cleaned it off and still no difference there either, My Multi meter is in my toolbox at work...

Awesome! Looks like I was right so then :) Trouble is though when all connected that way, there's nothing at all when turn the key and the temp gauge is reading hot too when ignition is turned on which may mean there's a short somewhere. Loom was only disconnected from the engine to remove it...

Just finished rebuiling the engine in my Defender and all back together but for the life of me I can't remember which wires are which for going onto the starter. I seem to have 3??? My Dad's Disco only has one. Just that it's so long ago since I took it apart as was waiting on oversize pistons...

My girlfriend loves my Defender and offroading and camping so quite easy to justify getting bits for it means I'm getting something for both to enjoy :D Also use it for towing the trackcar and other recoveries. Use it at home on the farm for going through the fields and pulling the cattle box...

I've one of those flaring tools too and it wrecks my head. can be complete hit and miss to get a flare. I've another type thats much better. It's handy for doing pipes on the car though

I removed both egrs abd coolers on my Defender and Dad's Discovery. Runs fine with no problems. Tidies up the engine a little bit too :)

If both old turbos failed together, the cause should have been found either way before new ones fitted.
