    Series 3 109 1/2 chassis !

    It does look good ! But that's a 1/4 chassis but still better than nothing. My original post was for a 1/2 chassis for a 109, you can get them for SWB but not the 109 ? Was just saying that going off the photos the 109 has an extra crossmember in between the chassis rails as appose to the SWB .

    Oh yeh ! Just seen that ! You can get a SWB one for about £300, I'm sure I will be able to modifie it to fit ! What could be wrong ? too short I can make it longer and chop off old fuel tank supports and re-use ! what else

    Hi I'm currently stripping down a 1977 series 3 109 to do a full renovation job and am looking for a rear 1/2 chassis but can't find one ??? I can find loads of SWB half chassis but none for the 109 ?? I'm a dab hand with a welder so does anybody know if a SWB can be used/modified to fit a 109...

    Defender Puma - clunk noise etc

    My son's Puma clunks when you let the clutch up in gear with brakes on which determined for me with my head underneath looking for play that it must be in the gearbox. If you Google it Pumas are well known for it !

    If you have to drive like that it's because you have a problem ! I have a 200tdi 110 and also a TD5 110 and neither have any play in transmission !! Well they do but not enough to clunk or have to drive it in a way that would prevent any clunking !! But as for my son's Puma it is terrible ...

    My son has a 110 puma and I hate the transmission on it !!! It also clunks like yours and the previous owner spent hundreds on new half shafts, drive flanges, etc and it still clunks. I personaly think the clunk is either coming from the gearbox or worn imput shaft going into the transfer box.

    Just changed crank sensor and still won't start when hot ! Well it will start but you have to crank her over for about 30 seconds

    Thanks for that ! Fuel pressure regulator is new ! I think that your right and it's the fuel filter housing ! I have another 110 TD5 so I can swap it over first from that to see it it's that .

    I know that you can fit a Discovery TD5 pump in a Defender 110 if you swap the fuel sender over so it sounds like it's the same for the 90 then .

    Thanks for that I have another TD5 so it would be quite easy to swap crank sensor over to try it . So much money and time has been spent so far that I just don't want to waste anymore time and money on it with out there being at least a fair chance that it's that .

    V8 Burning more oil than fuel !

    Thanks for your recent replies as I’m Absolutely stumped on this one ? Plugs look good on the left bank but on the right bank they are all black and carboned up . Runs **** on petrol and better on gas !

    Update after having a look at her this morning ! Running on petrol revving up on to a clean piece of cardboard , nothing ! no oïl or water clean as a whistle ! Sat in the boot watching the rear slight white smoke but nothing to suggest it's useing so much oïl ! All 4 spark plugs on the right...

    Ok Cheers Worth a try ! But I think the main tank has been replaced by the gas tank and only has a small petrol tank for start up !!
