The AA suggested that the timing chain may be slightly stretched or the crank & cam sensors are out of sync. going to fit a replacement power steering pump this weekend.

Yes the belt is turning the pump. I think I have two faults that I need to deal with. I am at work just now, so I'll get the AA to get the car home so that I can have a proper look at it

My Rangie has been OK, no major issues so far. Will have to investigate why the driver side heated door mirror is constantly on when driving and an annoying buzz from rear drivers side loud speaker, traced to the radio :-)

Going to work in stop start traffic I average 15.8 mpg, still cheaper than public transport. longer runs I get an average of 26-29 mpg. Think I'll try what Wammers suggests reset at 50, 60, 70 just out of curiosity.

Since I mentioned the stalling / lumpy running on my P38a DSE and giving it an 'Italian tune up', It is now running smoother than before and is giving an extra 4-5 mpg.

I'm thinking about getting one myself. I had a look at the emulator for the Nanocom and not sure if I fully understand it, for example, 'Timing Modulation 94.37' I'm assuming this means the engine timing, but is this figure within tolerance? I'm sure it come with instructions and what read...

Yes Grrrrr, it stalled while slowing down to a junction and traffic lights. Update: Checked the oil earlier this evening, level OK. Ran the engine until it reached normal temp, ran perfectly with no signs of stalling. Gave it an Italian tune up & down the by-pass, still ran perfectly never...

Wammers, the engine was still warm. Think I'll drain some oil out when cold then top up to the marks again. I don't think that caused the stalling though. Grrrrr, brand new battery fitted a few weeks ago.

My attention seeking rangie gives me the same message as well as ABS fault. I think it's down to low battery volts.

What wammers said. When I changed my drag link I placed glossy mags under the wheels then adjusted until the markers on the steering box lined up as per Rave.

The P38a passed it's MOT yesterday, with 3 advisories. 1. *slight play in n/s drag link*. (same as last year) 2. slight coolant leak (now fixed) 3. o/s sill slight corrosion. ** I told the tester that I replaced the drag link 6 months ago. His reply was not to worry as they are all like that.
