Nope, they've never checked the oil level on any car I've mot'd. They do however lift the bonnet to check the brake fluid level. Did have an advisory once that the brake fluid level was low, but he was just guessing trying to look through the opaque reservoir. If he'd taken the cap off would...

On ebay look for P38 Eas bypass valves -or under range rover air suspension. Schrader valves are the best. I keep a set in the gloves box.
