    future 4x4

I was like that on my first trip (still am) but if I see an obstical and I don't think I know how to tackle it safely, I'll first ask someone else, if not go around it or go back. Best to build up to the extreemer stuff if you worry about it. Laning can be far worse as there's rarely a way...

    New central locking required!

Not sure if it's same as mine (1994 300tdi) but I've run a wire from the 12v on the ignition switch for stage 2+3 to the fuel stop solenoid and just unplugged the old wire, then another wire from the 12v from the ignition stage 3 to the starter relay. If you do a search for alarm bypass...

vibrating on acceleration in 3rd and 2nd gear

Think they should be more like 8 per uj. Last time I bought them. Get hardy spicer ones. Hopefully you ordered timken wheel bearings as Britpart ones will give you more trouble than is worth it

    Other road drive or track?

Hi, Ive just been looking on OS maps of my area and although there are no BOATs there are a lot of routes on the map marked as either, two solid black lines parallel to each other which is white in-between, or one of the solid lines is dashed. When i looked on the key these are listed as...

    How reliable is your Disco

The reliability of the vehicle depends hugely on how you look after it. For example if you ignore a problem until it fails, it generally breaks multiple things. however i tend to fix a problem before it start to get bad. and that way my disco is always good to me. and again it depends on what...

    Biodiesel-Have you?Do you?Any problems with Bio?

i definatly notice a bit more 'go' when the turbo hits compaired to diesel. but air con really makes it struggle pre turbo. other than that economy is roughly the same. just enjoy a bit more power

    Biodiesel-Have you?Do you?Any problems with Bio?

1.22 for decent bio around me. not wvo or svo its proper bio. run 100% all the time. replaced leak off pipes and no other problems so far. some times takes a while to start but a good battery sorts that out. The guy that sells me mine runs his p38 on it for last year and said only problem he...

    Decisions, decisions

1k for mine @ 200k miles but service history to 175k. chassis been waxoiled for its life but needs new boot floor. i found that when they know a problem with it and they tell you you can knock it down on price a bit. as i knocked 200 quid off mine for the boot floor and a new one costs 50 quid.

    Annoying wheel bearings

Sounds like a plan. Think I've been too worried about over tightening. That'll be today's job then.

    Annoying wheel bearings

I've only tightened them when theyve got loose, trust me I don't want to make extra work for myself. The hubs were smooth and everything went together fine. I ask as one side has become loose again.. So I think I'm just being too gentle with them and they need a bit more tightening? Annoyingly...

    Annoying wheel bearings

When I first got the disco a year ago my first job was replacing the front wheel bearings which I did with a mechanic friend of mine. Since then I've been tightening them every month or so on the front but the rear ones are fine. Am I just being stupid and not tightening them up too much? Or...

    engine wont rev

You can see the blanking plate in the bottom of this picture but my egr is still in place as i dont have the long hose to replace it all with. just unplugged it and put the plate there. This is the top one of the two bolts to undo to take the whole unit out.

    engine wont rev

not sure about the pipes, mine looks like its just been taken out of the block completely and just have one going to air box and brake servo. The bolts will be a pig, constantly heated right up and cooled down day in and day out. think its just the two bolts that attach it to the block not...

    engine wont rev

best to take intercooler out, fill with petrol and swill out, then leave it to dry over night and make sure its completely dry before re fitting. not sure what pip you mean but if your chucking egr away i would just block it up.
