New central locking required!

Hi all,

I have been having lots of trouble with my immobiliser on my 97 300tdi disco. It comes on and takes ages to get the remote to work to de-activate it. Anyway finally it has refused to work and now immobilised with a dead battery.

Whats is the best way to disconect the alarm / immobiliser? and how easy is it to fit a new central locking kit - I see lots of ones on ebay that are cheap!

Not sure if it's same as mine (1994 300tdi) but I've run a wire from the 12v on the ignition switch for stage 2+3 to the fuel stop solenoid and just unplugged the old wire, then another wire from the 12v from the ignition stage 3 to the starter relay.

If you do a search for alarm bypass there's loads of posts some including wiring diagrams which make the whole job pretty easy.
