Hi All, I had a good look at the fusebox located under the steering column... and noticed that all my fuses were rated at 17 Amp !! I can't see in the owner's manual what the fuse ratings should be... but I bought a selection of different ratings at the Woodvale Rally over the weekend...

Good luck !! Have you checked: front swivel housing oil levels steering relay oil level upper steering box oil level greased your propshaft nipples! can't think of anything else as mine's a petrol !

My '76 petrol SWB has been chipped and i'm certain it goes faster !! I smear the chip fat onto the propshaft ;)

I already tried to undo the nuts holding the cylinder on... they are NOT budging without an angle grinder !! May need to quickly learn how to fashion brake pipe and flare ends etc !!

I was just about to bleed my front brakes... but there is only a bleed nipple on the offside wheel cylinder.... the nearside wheel cylinder has no nipple! ... but there is a small hole where the bleed nipple should go! Is that normal... and with a missing nipple how come brake fluid isn't...

You might well be right.. I just took off the other (good) drum and the piston do seem to be further in. I will get out the copper grease and cleaning brushes !

Hi, In the adjuster side, the spring connects to the peg in the shoe... the other end of the spring of course goes to the peg on the backplate.

Thanks for the feedback folks. I was slightly surprised when the MOT tester said he thought the brakes problem might be wrong type of "pads" or stuck caliper piston on the "disks"... I wanted to point out that they were drums all round and that he was clearly an idiot... but I bit my tongue ...

Hi Folks, Had the MOT done today... failed ! 1) Worn bushes on shocks 2) Rear brakes binding 3) And most peculiar.. lack of headlight beam pattern ! I had a closer look at my headlights (marked as lucas) and there isn't any pattern moulded into the glass - except a sort of zig-zag...

Interesting read... but what on earth is 'backlash'.. and why do the two gears mentioned need it ???

I took the plunge and ordered a new tank from Paddocks.... so will have to try and get the drain plug undone on the old one (about 4L of fuel remaining) and do the swap over Easter !!
