I'm not to far away. I've not tried to (or needed to) fit fogs so can't answer your question on if the wiring is present. I can however help if the BECM needs programming but before you do anything more check your BECM is the high spec version. Some of the lower spec cars had a cheaper Low spec...

To try and eliminate the gearbox ecu, couldn't the gearbag ecu just be disconnected and then just to prove a point try it?

as strange as it sounds have you checked the handbrake to see if it is sticking? I had an issue with mine where the handbrake stuck so firmly it was impossible to pull away

The HT leads can be tight but are doable you've just got to be extra careful you don't muddle them on the dis pack end. I did one lead at a time. Plug hmmmmm could it be the wading plug? We might need a piccie of that one to get a good idea. Gearbox trans fluid isn't to hard but it's not worth...
