Hello bud, I have in-laws who live near pathos. I once made the mistake of taking a hire car on to the acamas peninsula to find the blue lagoon. Nearly got stuck out there with wife and baby, missus still hasn't forgiven me for that stupid stunt.Stunning sceney though.
can't remember, I think I put a smear of grease. Just make sure you de grease hub studs and nut threads, then loctite nuts when fitting the spacers. I also put a light smear of grease on the cone of the nuts so they don't bind up when tightening.
I used alloy hub centric spacers from raptor (i think they are tyrex), as I have alloys. I thoroughly cleaned mating faces, decreased studs and loctited nuts. All good
The only thing I would do is brace the inner sills to the chassis. The reason being is its only 50mm channel, so not great side impact protection (until the chassis rails).
The front is protected by a big metal bumper bolted to the chassis. And the rear bumper is a chassis crossmember.
maraduke i think you have missed my point. Im not comparing the two engines, im saying that some engines have a reputation for doing very high mileages and others dont. Some engines can handly abuse and others cant etc etc. This guy is just after a bit of advice on a particular engine.
I think it's a bit of a shame most of these replies are sarcastic and unhelpful. When I was considering buying my 300 tdi defender, I was put off by the high mileage. But after a bit of research about them, and the fact it was well cared for I took the plunge. It's now done over 250k with no...
There is 4 of these fir tree trim clips securing the rear roof panel. If I remember correctly the clips push into a basic u bracket that is spot welded on the inside of the rear panel of the roof.
I fitted boost alloys to my 110 csw, then adjusted the lock stops.
I found the turning circle was so bad I couldn't live with it. I then fitted 30mm hub centric aluminium spacers (from raptor) problem solved.
Make sure you use hub centric spacers with alloys ( steel wheels locate on wheel...
