Have to agree Eight, autos are very good mine is quicker than a manual (my misses has one) and much nicer to drive, its economical too, and very capable off road, and of course no clutch to worry about.

Is the damper like a small shock absorber James ?

All discoverys are permantly in 4 wheel drive, the smaller lever is for hi and low ratio gears, D1s had difllock also selectable on the small gearstick, but i think all the D2s have traction control so difflock is not needed, Yes the airbags can fail so a sprung one would be a better buy...

Its quiet when you start off but as the revs climb the vibration starts, if i floor it it goes away so its around mid throttle just before it changes up a gear

I cant seem to find the origional thread but some of you thought my vibration was down to a faulty front prop, well its been off for a while and it made no difference, i dont think the rears suffer so what else can it be if it was the transfer box wouldnt it be noisey constantly, i only get it...

But if the wheel starts to spin wouldnt they just get thrown out? and if your going really slow theres no centrifugal force to throw them under the tyre ?

Why would you want to switch it off anyway,it only works when you need it so you would have to switch it back on and the system does it for you ?

Just take it for an MOT thats the quickest way to see whats wrong
