Td5 problems :(

morning guys and happy new year!!
I'm after some advice if I may!? I have a 90 Td5 and it has been coughing and spluttering and every now and again it cuts out.. Had it plugged into diagnostics and it come up at air mass meter. So I swapped it for a brand new 1. It still didn't cure the problem. But I've been to it this morning and it won't start at all engine is still turning over just won't fire up.. Has anyone had anything like this before?

sounds like a fuel problem to me

Check for oil in the ECU connector

if you can hear fuel pump running try the fuel purge procedure, if its any better starting change injector seals and washers,

Turns out it's an earth fault around the handbrake and top of gear box.

Glad you got it sorted and it was fairly simple! I bloody hate it when things aren't running right! big relief i bet

the 2 earth wires bolted to transfer box

Yes I had the same problem after it being in garage for 6 months with no ideas i had the injectors tested 2 were faulty has the injectors were very very expensive I brought a td5 discovery and fitted the engine into my defender worked out cheaper
