Defender 110 Clutch Servo Engaging whilst clutch held down

The servo simply uses vacuum to assist in pressing the pedal so not much effort is needed as opposed to a non servo clutch set up. If fluid level is the same, I would try bleeding from the slave cylinder first then try it again. A very easy job to do. Report back if you can.

Boost pin. Wasn't running properly, it is now.

1997 300tdi Defender 90. Acceleration down, much black smoke, running pretty poorly then the clutch slave went on me so I started in the workshop today. Slave was relatively quick job then onto the poor running. I opened up the top of the fuel pump to find much water and rust. After extracting...

    Dodgy wiring

that space costs me £300 a month plus water and electricity, but it does have 3 phase for the ramp. I reckon a bargain for a city location.

    Dodgy wiring

Yes it is. My workshop was born as a stable in 1903, sometime around 1920's it became a small engineering factory followed by a grinding factory. In 2000 it was left empty and a firm of solicitors moved their paperwork into it. It became too damp for that and it was left empty for 5 years and I...

    Dodgy wiring

Had my Defender 90 (1997) for 3 months now, still got the Sll though. Defender, gauges were reading high when I put heater blower on and gauge lights were dimming. Blower was losing fan speed with headlights on, intermittent wiper stopped all together. Remedy. I took the gauges plug apart and...

    Parabolic Springs

Had a complete set of Rocky mountains on my 1958 SII for 12 years now, much better articulation, better at speed and cornering, better off road, cant fault them yet.

    inner crank pulley stuck

I had to beat my pulley to death to get it off, and i mean a lump hammer for about an hour. My arms resembled poppeye's when I was done. Yes, I now need a new crank pulley.

    300tdi wont turn over

I got me a borehole camera from a famous auction website, now as soon as i can get the injectors out it will be a quick look down the bores, if I can get some spray lube in it may well unseize itself. Here's hoping.

    300tdi wont turn over

Now when I say the injectors are stuck,. they are STUCK. So I got me a slide hammer but the adaptor is M10 to M12, not fitting the injector thread so I have ordered an M14 tap set, going to make me an M10 to M14 adaptor for pulliing the injectors out. I did try towing it down my road in 5th but...

    300tdi wont turn over

Last year came and went. Yesterday i dragged the dead lump into my garage. Took the front off and just kept going till I reached the crank pulley, the bolt came out but I had top beat the pulley to death to remove it, in doing so i hit the water pump housing so need a new one of those too. Got...

disco 300tdi and box into a series

I planted a 300tdi and LT77 box into my S2 88" back in 1992. Probably one of the very first S2s with a 300Tdi transplant. I took the body off, made the job easier. Had to move engine mounts, gearbox mount, battery, radiator and find room for the intercooler, move the front grill forwards, alter...

    300tdi wont turn over

I put a 300tdi in my 1958 series 2 in 1992, ran it for two years and then some major works were needed on transmission, gearbox, clutch, etc. Now I have found the time to get all the jobs done but i went to start her yesterday after 8 years and the engine won't turn. I tried a bar and socket on...

    Tyres

I tend to travel many miles on road to get to the 'off road' venues. I use 15" Kuhmo power guards which seem to be good all round tyres. Not the best on road or off road but they are very quiet on a long run. Looking to put a complete new set of mud tyres on spare rims and take them with me but...

    Air Suspension?

Hi Roy, when I get around to it I was thinking the same for the series. Air to be taken from a compressor mounted to the front on top of the crank pulley where the P/S pump used to be. I have no P/S on the Series. Try motorcycle breakers for the air shocks, may sound daft but a single motorcycle...
