300 tdi fender. My crank oil seal has failed and i need to remove the crank pulley in the timing case... its seized solid i tried hammer and pry bars, made a puller using the m5 bolt holes in thepulley... the bolts just stripped i then used new bolts fitted the puller and tried prying it but the pulley wont shift i really dont fancy using a grinder anywhere near the crankshaft can anyone think of any other ways of removing the pulley?

Spray the pulley/crank with a decent penetrating oil (not WD40), put your puller on and tighten up as much as possible. Give the end of the puller some sharp hits from a hammer, if it doesn't release leave it as-is. Don't be afraid to leave it overnight and keep going back and hitting it with the hammer.

I had to beat my pulley to death to get it off, and i mean a lump hammer for about an hour. My arms resembled poppeye's when I was done. Yes, I now need a new crank pulley.
