    Coping with "real" snow

I'm living in an area which is likely to have some heavy snow for the next few months.. At present I have mixed tread tyres on my 97 Disco but I'm curious to know if 100% snow tyres, or, snow chains are more functional. Apart from the slight inconvenience of having to mount/remove the chains...

    Driver seat

Apart from the oil pressure being an issue (thanks for the help) I have a dodgy seat: the back doesn't stay completely upright when adjusted.I think it has a buggered back adjuster knob at the base. Is there a DIY way of reuilding the seat ? If not, is there a ball-park cost for a second hand...

    Oil warning light?

I've had various glitches with my Landy since I've bought it, (lift pump, fuel pump isolator, driver's seat collapse) and, being stuck in the middle of France, it's been a bit of a bugger at times. However, the damned thing has been a blessing, and it's the first time I've owned a vehicle that...

    mpg

I drive mine any old how and it always gives at least 500 miles to the tank. If you are towing, or, lo-gearing (off roading) it will (obviously) reduce the consumption...

Subject: Subject: ACTUAL QUESTION ON CHEMISTRY EXAM The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term: The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course...

I'm happy to oblige Maximus Slobbus... The "wimmin" in the pub said - "**** the smooth stuff you arse,it's much easier to slap on the hammer finish, so don't be such a cock and get on with it".... What could I say? :)

    Headlight guards Disco 1

No, but they are similar. The brackets on mine don't line up, and the guard is too close to the indicator. I think these are for a pre '95 model. The one's I have need a screw drilled into the wing, not the bumper. Thanks anyway fishface, I'll stick them on ebay..

    Headlight guards Disco 1

I've just given up on fitting them (plastic coated metal) - It should be a simple job but these are clearly not the right part for the vehicle. If you have a link to a site that sell the perspex type I'd appreciate it?

    Bearmach side steps

Just a couple more tips should anyone else fit these: Don't bolt the steps to the mounting brackets as suggested in the instructions: it restricts access to the outrigger nuts, and the access for getting a drill in to make your hole for the additional mounting.(Two bolts are safer than one...
