    did you get to the bottom of the problem??, im stuk with the same problem, changed starter motor, still the same, just a click from solenoid and relay, isnt the earth cos i took direct from battery, any ideas please

    its a brand new starter motor and the one i took off was doing the same, so i dont think it can be the starter motor contacts or the solenoid switch contacts (are they part of the starter motor part), still scratching my head and still off the road!

    theres no clicking, the yellow relay inside makes a click noise and i can hear a clunk from starter motor (solenoid) but no repeated clicking, will check that the fly lead is live in the morning, is that the thin wire with connector or the big thick one attached by a bolt?? thanks for the help

    thanks for the reply fuel filter was from Paddocks and is a Britpart! I have checked that no old seals are left in there. fuel pump is fairly noisy but has been for ages will check ECU plug today Thanks again steve

    Is there anywhere else it could be leaking from around there? Its not where the rubber pipe joins the cover, tis difficult to see exactly, I'm sure I read that if it leaks from that hole, it means the pump is dead!

    Aha, is the bearing seal about 6-8cm in diameter? Does that mean I just need to replace that seal? I suppose only Landrover sell them? I tried instant gasket but didnt make any difference Thanks for your reply
