  • took the rad apart tonight, flushed it and refit, tried it and it doesn't get hot at the bottom,
    the part no on the rad is PCC001050, does this ring any bells?

    Hi there saintv8 said you might know the pressure that is in the oil cooler line for a autobox on a 2.5dse 1996. Said you might have posted it but been through all 25 pages of your posts but can't seem to find it.

    Hi there, hope this isn't taking a liberty but thought it was worth a try! I have been reading some old posts and see that you do recons? My mechanic tells me my engine(2.25 diesel) is worn. Needs new pistons, rings etc. Could you tell me how much a rebuild to a good solid reliable?? Engine would be if you were to do it? Again sorry for being forward but thought it's worth an ask!     Hi James, Chunkymunky pointed me in your direction. Basically to sum it up im in a pickle and need to buy a new bulk head and get it fitted within the next week, i have limited funds and have found one for a 1992 defender v8. Do you know if this would fit on a defender 1988 110 200 TDI?

    A few weeks ago, I posted about on going brake problems, I had with my TD5 Defender. I know the calipers, and pads are good. My problems range from having a rock hard pedal to full travel all the way down to the floor with very little breaking effect. I am pretty sure it is either a servo issue, or a master cylinder problem.
    You mentioned if there were bubbles in the reservoir. I tested this the other day, and when the brake pedal is pumped, there is a large bubble in the reservoir. Almost like lava bubbling in a volcano.
    Do you have any ideas what it could be????

    Hi James,was told to speak to you by crash box I have got a discovery td5 on a 2000 just fit new viscus fan cos I was told it was shot! So I put a new fan on today and it just running flat out all the time engine is running like a jet taking off?? So it carnt be the fan?... Could u shed any light on this? Cheers

    I was told that your the go to guy when it comes to freelander transmission problems and boy do I have one. I was going down a pretty step hill the other day and had the vehicle in first with hill decent mode on, when I came to the bottom of the hill I switched off the hill decent and continued down in first. when I got to the bottom I realized that the dash selector flashed F4 with the amber HDC light on. I parked and turned off the vehicle, I started again and all seemed fine as the HDC amber went of and the dash selector said D again. When I got home I tried backing into my garage, felt the reverse engaged but stepped on the gas and went no where. Had all nine solenoid changed and problem still isn't fixed. Also I notice that the F4 only flashes again with the amber HDC light when going down hill in which the vehicle seems to slip into neutral with no engine compression for braking. Even on flat downshifting has no effect on the vehicle. What could be my problem?

    have just had a tinker with the car, started to do the EGR kit, cannot get bottom hex stud out as it is tight, so penetrating oil and a hex socket required, took map sensor out, the one on the inlet manifold, oily!, give it a clean, now the question, haven't quite got to take ing egr off inlet end yet, but i suspect inlet manifold is a little oily, will this clear up as i can only clean what you can manipulate with a rag etc, don't know what intercooler is like yet,

    i hope you dont mind the intrusion,
    could you tell me if a lt230 transfer box off a 1989/ 90, will fit my 2003/ 110 td5 defender, it failed big time yesterday and i have a lt77 box with transfer, same ratio 1.41, would it be ok to change the transfer or would it be best that i get a newer unit....hope you can help with this question.. richard
    james i have being told that the shorter hub caps off a 1993-1998 will fit my defender 90 1991 so i can fit my wheel caps on freestyle wheels do you know if this is right or would you do you think i should buy one to test it !!!
