  • Hi James, I have all the parts needed to bypass this sedimentor now-8mm silicone fuel hose (1m length)and clips, I have measured the fuel pipe on the car and the pipe on the front end of the sedimentor will go into the hose but when ive tried to measured the pipe at the back it seems a bigger diameter and plastic coated rather than rubber, do you know where to cut the pipe at the back end? It seems about 9.5mm or will it squeeze into the 8mm fuel hose? I have got 8mm fuel hose joiners but not sure of the internal diameter of the plastic coated pipe. On the front end it is plastic coated thats joined to the sedimentor but further towards the engine rubberpipe is joined, sorry!

Did you manage to get a price for a N/S/F hub carrier? Nice meeting you on friday, hope to stay in touch, tried to call you today to find out if the range rover p 38 hub is the same as disco 2 because they can be rebuilt with new bearings, talk soon Paul

Hi James, Thanks for your idea on the abs unit and bleeding. Hope you don't mind me contacting you but having done this before I hope you maybe able to help. When bleeding at the outgoing pipe at the abs block I have put through two reservoir of fluid and still getting loads of little bubbles on just one front brake line. Is this normal?

    Hi James
My freelander is not getting reverse after fitting a s/h jatco box, I know that the band bolt has not been removed (still tight and loads of crap around it like the rest of the box) Do you want to sort it out for me as a commercial job?
Hi james, sorry about this mate, ive got new fuel filter on and drained sedimentor, was pretty clean to be honest, but im struggling to remove fuel pipes off of it, could you tell me the full step by step of getting it off, its ok if ya dont want to i know im a pain!
    Hi James, me again !.

I,ve taken my T box out ready to put in the replacement CDL equipped box, but unfortunately have been supplied the wrong output shaft seal. Whilst I have to wait to get a new one, I was wondering if its worth replacing the oil seal collar, and if so, is it just a case of " pulling " it off the shaft, and " tapping " the new one back on ?.

    Cheers. Del.
    Hi again.

I have the chance of a cheap box from an auto 2000 TD5.

Will this be ok to put on my manual, ans is there anything I should look out for when buying it.

    Cheers, Del.
I see so you,re saying that its not just a case of using the bits from any donar box, and that I,ll need additional bits ?.

It sounds like its not going to be as simple, for me, as I thought !.

I had the box out last summer to fix the intermediate shaft seals and re-thread a couple of stipped out threads, however, MFT is very slightly leaking from where the two box,s join which, I suspect, is the gear box,s main shaft seal. ( yes, I know I,m a doghnut for not replacing it when I had the chance ! ).

So the box is coming out for 2 jobs.

    Cheers.

    Del.
Hi James, I hope you dont mind me mailing you, as you seem to have quite a few other questions from fellow members.

You seem to be very knowledgable about gearboxes, so I wondered if you knew wheather I would be able to use the front casing and diff lock selector mechanism from any, ( probably late 300 Tdi Disco or Fender ), Lt230 transfer box, to put into my 2002 Discovery TD5 manual,s Lt230 box.

I have found, when pulling heavier loads on some parts of the farm, that the momentum I lose in the few seconds it takes the traction controll to kick in, cause me to get bogged down. ( unlike in the Defender ).

I,ve had a touch with a genuine diff lock selector lever assembly and cable, and feel it is now the time to get ready for the autums return.

    Cheers.

    Del.
