Hi all, my remote central locking packed up randomly... Looked for the unit that controls it and found this earth loop just hanging there .. that's not right is it?! Where does that need to go?

In that case the RF receiver is gone !! I don’t know how your central locking worked at all without it ???

The unit is still there, there earth with a ring connector isn't connected to anything
The earth goes onto the mounting bolt you can see in your photo and earths onto the plate on the right of the below photo.

Possible that the unit has been replaced at sometime, and the person that did the job forgot. It wouldn’t have left the factory like that I’m sure.Thank you, but how the hell has it come undone?? No one has touched it???
Anyway, its there as a grounding for any perceived interference that the item may receive.
It appears that some don't know its function

I'm sincerely sorry for my English.
I can no longer use my car key remote to open and close the doors. The battery in the remote is new. So I suspect the RF Receiver. And I wanted to know if there should be a ground or earth at this screw.
Permanently. Because I tested it and I have nothing. No earth !
