Eka is still on, coding it in every time. I had the fob rebuilt about a week ago after months of procrastination just haven't got around to picking it up yet.

I didn't have anything other than diesel and I do drive a p38 so smelling a bit oily is the norm Good idea on the pencil though, I like that

Both keys have the same problem unfortunately. It is starting and driving though, hard to get the time to everything, clutch slave is leaking, coolant system is leaking, front driveshaft is in the boot, handbrake is disconnected, the list could go on

The up to date is that I have the key moving freely now, soaked the key in diesel several times and it will turn now no bother. Still have to push it in and out a few times to let it know the key is not still in the ignition but an improvement is an improvement.

An awful lot of my time is spent trying to start my own one even with the key and fob, if you can steal one of these things I say you deserve to keep it, lol. Seriously though, I think I might have made a breakthrough.

That other thread is no help, still doesn't say how to get the cylinder out and the ignition switch is the bit I already have out that I'm sticking the screwdriver into, lol. Bloody range rovers

Thanks, unfortunately couldn't be more different on the range rover, the barrel itself is part of the steering column, it's a big cast aluminium unit.

I have a scrapper, maybe I'm calling things by the wron name, is it the barrel that I'm trying to get out?

Thanks for reply, I have been searching forums the last two days, it did seem possible in one thread on another forum but the photos of where the pinhole is was gone as the thread was so old. The part does look to be on sale on eBay as well. At the moment I have the ignition switched removed...

Hi. I am getting a lot of trouble with turning my key in my ignition. I want to take the cylinder out to inspect/clean. Could anyone describe in detail/post a picture of where the hole is for the release detent for the cylinder, thanks.
