hi is there a way to turn on ignition without key? I’m mob and eka are disabled so should start! I need engine running to complete gearbox work and mate has driven off with keys!

I’m just making a point ;)

I once got locked out by my dog with engine running in middle of nowhere. After long think I got into the vehicle very easily.

I won’t post how on here, not everybody reading is an honest member sating curiosity. :( Just check out the LZ stolen section

I’ve done the same took me all of a couple of minutes and a flat blade screwdriver to get in with no damage at all

Thanks.

There isn't one as far as i know. They are thief proof barrels.

Thanks for reply, I have been searching forums the last two days, it did seem possible in one thread on another forum but the photos of where the pinhole is was gone as the thread was so old.
The part does look to be on sale on eBay as well.
At the moment I have the ignition switched removed from the other end of the barrel and I can start the car by turning a flat head screwdriver in it once the key is in the ignition but I can't turn the key in the ignition to release the steering lock without a lot of hassle.
Also my key fob is 20 miles away after being re made so it's eka code, then stick key in ignition and then wiggling the key with a pipe wrench to get it to release the steering lock.
That is a pain of a starting procedure and then I'm driving around with my dashboard pulled apart and I know I'm gonna break something worse using the pipe wrench to turn the key.

You will have to get a new lock set, ignition and drivers door barrels. Not cheap new, but they can be obtained for scrappers.

This vid is for a D2, the process is similar for most Landies ...

some will give advice on battery removal for safety and re-start after tho ...

Parently it goes :
First off disconnect the battery, then to remove the cylinder, you put the key in the ignition and turn it to the number two position. Under the barrel housing you'll see a small pin hole, you want to put a small something in that hole and push in while trying to pull the barrel out. Many use a drill bit, don't for get to unplug it...

Thanks, unfortunately couldn't be more different on the range rover, the barrel itself is part of the steering column, it's a big cast aluminium unit.

My problem is that I cannot find the pinhole.
