I didn't have anything other than diesel and I do drive a p38 so smelling a bit oily is the norm

Diesel is better than nothing in your circumstance. You’ve turned off immob/eka (no battery in your key) so could you not just fit any old mechanism and use your ‘original’ for doors?

Eka is still on, coding it in every time. I had the fob rebuilt about a week ago after months of procrastination just haven't got around to picking it up yet.
