Ok thank you. Sorted nowNot without breaking the lock or hot wiring it.
Stole one??? Its hard enough to get started with the keys let alone withoutYou know he just stole one right?
I’ve done the same took me all of a couple of minutes and a flat blade screwdriver to get in with no damage at allI’m just making a point
I once got locked out by my dog with engine running in middle of nowhere. After long think I got into the vehicle very easily.
I won’t post how on here, not everybody reading is an honest member sating curiosity. Just check out the LZ stolen section
Hi, any of you know how to get the ignition cylinder out? Mines a 97 rr. I have the key in, turned to the no. 2 position and I have all the console plastic off. I just cannot find the hole I need to push the release detent in.
Thanks.
Thanks for reply, I have been searching forums the last two days, it did seem possible in one thread on another forum but the photos of where the pinhole is was gone as the thread was so old.
The part does look to be on sale on eBay as well.
At the moment I have the ignition switched removed from the other end of the barrel and I can start the car by turning a flat head screwdriver in it once the key is in the ignition but I can't turn the key in the ignition to release the steering lock without a lot of hassle.
Also my key fob is 20 miles away after being re made so it's eka code, then stick key in ignition and then wiggling the key with a pipe wrench to get it to release the steering lock.
That is a pain of a starting procedure and then I'm driving around with my dashboard pulled apart and I know I'm gonna break something worse using the pipe wrench to turn the key.
Parently it goes :
First off disconnect the battery, then to remove the cylinder, you put the key in the ignition and turn it to the number two position. Under the barrel housing you'll see a small pin hole, you want to put a small something in that hole and push in while trying to pull the barrel out. Many use a drill bit, don't for get to unplug it...
