    WhatPART RUINS MY DAY!

I sourced an 'old stock' Lucas brake switch - made when Lucas was Lucas I guess! I had some issues with modern Lucas ones. I'm sure I bought a second genuine old stock Lucas one once I established the first was all good. It's on the shelf somewhere in the garage join case of future need. Not...

    WhatPART RUINS MY DAY!

My brake switch fits to the servo and is a Lucas type made of brass. I suspect the one you're after fits to the pedal, right?

Some photos of the said Land Rover on its maiden voyage would be nice :)

    Goblin Garage!

The green bulkhead looks wrong. They could have at least painted that silver to complete the look. It's certainly different...

Series 3 Petrol vs Diesel...what's the verdict?

Back to the original post, back when I bought mine 6 or so year ago, I recall I possibly had a slight preference for a petrol variant but decided that I would choose a vehicle based on chassis, bulkhead engine and gearbox condition. If I was in the market for another, I would do the same. A...

    Properly F****d Propshaft

That UJ looks dryer than an Arab's sandal. I replaced my props with Hardy Spicer branded ones a couple of years back. They were't much dearer than Britpart at the time and have grease nipples to play with in all the right places.

    Is your Landrover a Car.

They're Utes...utility vehicles I suppose. I suppose they could be Jeeps too. :p Seriously though, this is what makes them special...they are class less. They don't really match any classification of any other vehicle properly. There really isn't a tick box for it.

New to this so help needed please...

Welcome! On my 1981 model , the brake lights and indicators share the same fuse. The fuse connections are known for corrosion so I would locate, remove and clean the connections at the fuse box under the steering column initially. Aside from this I suspect bad earth somewhere.

    SERIES ONE WIPERS.

Sure I've read that the grease in the motor goes hard and benefits from a fettling and re grease

Is the heater meant to be this loud?

It is a little noisy. Sounds like the mouse wheel is catching on the casing. Probably a bit of thermal corrosion Removal and strip down probably needed. A nice dinner table job for a couple of winters evenings. A good lube with some Castrol KY Jelly and she'll be good for another decade.

Series 3 lack of series 3 dash panels

I've been to a few autojumbles in the past few years and it's not a part I've seen about. I'm sure someone will manufacture them again in the next couple of years.

Series 2 is the 2.25 diesel reliable? Should I do a conversion?

There is no reason why a 2.25d should not be as reliable as any other Land Rover Engine, modern or old, if it is in good condition and well serviced. My 2.25d is more reliable than my 2 year old 30,000 mile Ingenium JLR engine. It's never let me down in the 5 years I've had it, albeit I don't do...

Series 2 New Series 2a owner.... which bits are supposed to go where?

Could it have been originally a diesel and that unusual thing was the engine pull stop? Clutching at straws really. Clearly some previous owner liked their clocks and gauges! - perhaps they worked in a power station :)

Series 2 New Series 2a owner.... which bits are supposed to go where?

Hi and welcome. For a small fee you can obtain a Heritage Certificate from the British Motor Museum at Gaydon. This will provide you with the original build spec (body type), colour, retailing dealer and often extras fitted such at passenger windscreen wiper. As you're probably well aware...

    SWB re-chassis

Nice work on the wheels. Don't let any brake fluid get on those when you bleed the system up! :) Good to have the project in a garage though this time of year.

It could well be the motorways I mainly drive on....M3 South, M4 Newburyvto Bristol & M5. Some more London way are a little slower due to cams :)

Tyre suppliers - not a what tyre thread!

Don’t overlook regular retailers as opposed to the online favourites. I had 4 new tyres fitted by Micheldever tyres close to me and they undercut a couple of the online sorts by £20 when I quoted the prices :)
