Hi all, have decided to pull the trigger on a set of 245/75/16 Cooper ST Maxx tyres for my D1 300tdi.

So far I’ve not had any luck locally, can only find stock at mytyres who I’ve not used before. Have you any other recommendations?

If it's any help, I have used "mytyres" online twice with no problems. A set of Cooper Discoverers cold climate tyres and a set of Pirellis for warmer temperature
They will deliver to wherever you want, your home or your local garage.

Last time I got tyres I hunted around online for good prices and 4x4tyres.co.uk and Camskill.co.uk came out looking cheap. However, by the time I had checked fitting prices locally it wasn't so much of a bargain. So in the end I went for Blackcircles which was a bit dearer but included free fitting at a local tyre shop.

Depending where you are, speak to Ed in tyre shop at does, ulting, he’s good on price and they will be fitted

I’m an Essex boy I’m afraid!!

I think I may have fitting sorted just need to place the order.

Don’t overlook regular retailers as opposed to the online favourites. I had 4 new tyres fitted by Micheldever tyres close to me and they undercut a couple of the online sorts by £20 when I quoted the prices :)

I think a lot of us have got used to the idea "the best price is on line".... quite often the local guy can match or come very near to a price if given the chance.

Cheers

That might be true, but the last time I took the Disco to the local tyre specialist all they could offer me was two from one Chinese manufacturer and the other two from two more different chinese manufacturers, then told me that it didn't matter what tyres I used, nor did it matter that it was a four wheel drive vehicle.
The salesman got all miffed when I said, "No thanks. I was looking for a complete set of four", and the prices were way more than what I finally got them for online.
I think it's fair to say that the online suppliers usually have access to a far greater range of products too.

So far I’ve been offered km02’s as an alternative at £240 each as they don’t do cooper. There is a reason buying online has become a thing, I’d pay a local garage a little over the odds but not £100 a tyre. I’ll make some more calls over the break and I’ll see what I can find, definitely set on the st maxx so I may not have an option.

So it is, I’m in Thurrock but for some reason I had it in my head it was it the north somewhere, will give them a shout!
