HI, I FITTED some s3 wiper arms and blades but the wiper motors don't have the strength to wipe across the screen... are the arms too much spring loaded for the motors or are the blades too grippy?

Some thing doesn't sound right...was it ok with the old wipers?

Whats it like with a wet screen.

Many old cars wipers won't work dry. Do the arms have 2 settings for the springs, some do.

Are the brushes ok in the motors?

My old series wipers needed me to help them along a bit with the thumb turn in anything but drizzle. Snow was a killer and rendered them almost fully manual.
I never could be bothered finding out why and sold it on years later with the same issue. I have seen refurb kits that may spice the power up a bit.

The original series one wipers and arms were rather thin lite items,blades and arms are availble.Original type motors are also available at a price to make you choke.

Depending on how much you like the series1. You can put series 3 wiper motor etc on.
My passenger motor does not work so manual operation only This has skinny blade. (Did go 4years without a wiper on passenger side) Driverside has series 3 blade on good Lucas motor. Works well.
Some marine wiper motors fit. These are cheaper

Sure I've read that the grease in the motor goes hard and benefits from a fettling and re grease

it only had one motor fitted when I got it- on the passenger side. I think the springs may be an issue. thanks for advice chaps.
