Might be an earthing problem as it sounds like the starter solenoid's clicking in and out. Also check your battery terminals are tight.

Chack the contactors on the stalk by removing the dash. Can you hear the relay clicking when you stick main beam on?

LR 90, have you considered a limited slip diff instead of TC or a locker? Just read it in the LRO mag, as they have done a write up on several lockers and LSD's.

Good point RichM, but if your thinking ahead when driving you wouldn't put yourself in that situation.

Nice to hear you got a new defender LR 90. I would go for the diff lock as you can select when you want it on or not. TC is constantly on, you can't turn it off.

I drove my bosses 10 plate 110xs the other day, its so much better my 1996 90, hes had no problems and its done 30,000. I would go for the xs if you get one. Cheers

Have you got your anti rattle clips/springs in your brake calipar to stop the pads rattleing?

Same as above, at work we cut through 10mm steel with a hole saws 46mm in diameter. Just plenty of coolant. A tip when you get 1-2mm in, put some of the swarf into the cutting groove as this seems to make them cut better.

Your top speed should come down slightly but it should accelerate quicker.
