    Disco 2 Half Chassis

I have a Dixon 1/4 section which after buying, i realised i didnt need as my chassis is still good. But its a very well made item, looks and feels the part, very heavy duty. Id use them again. He takes ages to deliver but if you are ok with that, no worries. Get it galvanised by them too.

Disco 2 TD5 Leaky Fuel Pressure Regulator

I took all the pipe fittings and sensor off first, then removed from the top. Then same to put back on the new one. Made access much easier with the spanner.

Disco 2 Td5 slow to change gear

Lockup on the auto box is controlled by engine temp. All the trans cooler sensor does is report an overheat of the oil.

    Disco 2 Cost after purchase?

If the ACE is deleted just leave it deleted. It is a great system but not all had it and it can be a headache unless you hydro hose convert it. You wont miss what you never had.

Disco 2 TD5 Leaky Fuel Pressure Regulator

Get a good quality one or rebuild kit. At least oem.

    Hi-Lo shifter

Either cable or mechanical shifter are easy to service once accessed. UPs site discovery2.co.uk shows how to get access

    Disco 2 Cost after purchase?

I mean when you are driving on the flat or a slight incline then pull your foot off the gas then push it again, you may feel and hear a clunk. This is wear in the drivetrain.

    Disco 2 Cost after purchase?

Number 1 is to stop all water ingress to the cab. This kills D2s and is really important to address. I wouldnt buy one without a test drive then full check with a Nanocom etc…. But east to say if you have a Nanocom… ACE is great but can be expensive and annoying to repair. As long as the...

Disco 2 Td5 slow to change gear

Id say your xyz switch may also be dodgy. Worth removing it to adjust and clean it up.

    Disco 2 Replacement turbo cartridge

The worst bit is removing the turbo, as the downpipe nuts can be a swine and shear off. Also the bottom one to the manifold is awkward. Plenty of heat and penetrating oil

    Td 5 discover 2 won’t start

Is it a flashing B with a line through it? If so, your BCU is perhaps a door stop. But they can sometimes be repaired if sent away.

    Td5 waiding

Its reasonably common knowledge that D2s arent watertight enough and too ECU heavy to really wade successfully. Others may disagree but a good old tdi is a far better bet, or a more modern vehicle with better seals.

    Propshaft crossthreading

There is a circlip and it needs big pliers to remove.

    Hi-Lo shifter

You can remove the selector housing from the top with the panel out. Its quite simple under there. If its stuck at the detent ball end then its a Box out job really. Main gear cluster out to sort. Not difficult with the box on the bench. Hopefully in the selector housing

Do I sell and buy a newer model?

Dual cab pickup or a FL2 id say. Im considering a pickup myself but not because of reliability, just because i need the load bed and have no room for a big trailer. I cant afford a 110 so have to look elsewhere.

    GREEN CAR??

Very green are D2s. The chassis biodegrades naturally!

Disco 2 ACE working but leans a bit too much

I use 1/4 hose on the front ram and it does make the system lazier. You would need to use 3/8 i guess all round.
