Is it just a single click you can hear ? if so try wriggling the spade connector on the starter motor. Mine did this and had me pulling my hair out until an RAC man sorted it :o Common fault.

Well thats about 35 ltrs for fifty quid and you did 115 miles so that works out about.................15 mpg :eek: They do say the lift will cause more drag but that still seems excessive. Have you checked the brakes aren,t binding ?

Landys aren't the only cars that leak oil , just have a look on Morrisons car park........... feckin oil everywhere ! :eek:

Are you getting 20 mpg on long runs or short round town trips? You should get around 25-30 on a run but for short journeys in the cold weather 20 sounds normal .

Hello Shocker , Long time no post :D Ive got a set for my 94 auto from Paddocks. They are Mintex pads made in uk and look good quality. The front pads are different than the rear in that they have two holes in the top. Can,t help you with the wheel arches though.

The outdoor shop "Go-outdoors " have got Numax liesure battery 75 ah , 650 cca for £49.99. Ive got one on the tdi and it seems to do the job nice. Think the clamp was a fiddle to get it to fit.

Ive used the Wilkinsons 10w40 semi synthetic in my 300 its only a couple of quid more than the mineral and its a B3 oil. I understand its made by Comma and they also supply some of the big supermarkets. Go on..........push the boat out :D

Ive been geting crap mpg anorl out of my 300 auto. I put 20 ltr in last week and got 80 miles out of it :eek: Only short 5 mile journeys. Im going to do the transfer box and axle oils and stick a new fuel and air filter on it. Hope I get some improvement.

Phone your local Renault dealer service dept and ask for Motrio 15w/40 20ltr. Its A2/B2 so basic spec but good enough for a tdi.Should be less than £30.00 inc vat. They do 10w/40 semi synthetic for £37.50 and thats A3/B3 B4 :) Also do bigger size drums if you want to save more.

Probably original rad, all full of crud . Put a new rad on for around £100 and should be fine.Had the same problem with mine years ago.

The only time I had trouble starting my 300 tdi was when air was getting in round the sedimenter. Ive since bypassed it and starts first time, I never touch the throttle , just glow plugs wait till light goes out and starts instantly. Ive only got standard battery .

Sounds like a turbo problem. Would have thought there would be a lot of blue smoke . Check the boost pipe from turbo to f.i.p .Its a 5mm pipe goes round back of engine. Sometimes they melt and are full of oil. Dont mess with the fuel pump adjustments until your sure everything is working as it...

If you wont a good oil for great price try comma x-tech 5w30 fully synthetic A5/B5 . Its about £20 for 5ltr on ebay including delivery.:)

That should keep the chiminea going for a bit :D

Glad you got it sorted ! Ive got some of that braided pipe from Halfords under my seat just incase of emergencies.

Those little bags are hygroscopic salts.Dont just put them on the bottom of windscreen as they will dissolve when saturated any make a right gooey mess ;)
