i could make a nasty one in a matter of minutes
would you retain the stub axles and do away with the diff etc.. to save weight?
Use just the body and plonk it on the sankey chassis complete

Use just the body and plonk it on the sankey chassis completethen you have a proper braked plated trailer

A sankey can carry 3/4 ton. So should hope I'd still get 1/2 ton in![]()
Replaced the wildly vibrating off side front drive shaft on my early 2000 XEDi Freelander. I've used a (no sniggers please) Britpart driveshaft. Old one came out without too much trouble but two things to note about the replacement:-
1. The end of the new driveshaft was'nt very well tapered so I had to file a better taper on it so that it could be inserted into g/box
2. The old shaft had a 32mm nut on the end. The new is 36mm - had to go out and by a new socket
Other than that dead easy!
I haven't fitted the dash switch yet, I'm struggling to see where I can get the cable through from the engine bay into the cabin, any suggestions?
Taken out ANOTHER PAIR of Melted Rear Bulb Holders that were causing havoc with my lighting system, before it's MOT tomorrow.
:frusty:
Tyres on and tracking done on the L series.
Drives like a totally different car now. Very pleased with it.
Hopefully something decent.
