Spent a fortune on spares for the 2 sheet mot failure list, work starts tomorrow...weather permitting!

anything major?

not really, just lots of bits.

dbt? brake effcy 46%
park brake effcy 11%

offside mirror sharp edges!
parking brake excess travel
rear brake pipe insecure
front exhaust bracket sheared
near and offside front suspension ball joints
near and off rear trailing arm rubbers (front)
front brake binding
emissions CO

drives nice though :)

Did some coolant temperature tests to confirm the correct operation of a V6's cooling system so the findings could be posted and enjoyed my commute as always :)

It'll drive much better with all that lot done, just niggles really :)

the co2 on mine has been high everytime i've took it for the test.
my mot examiner says he has to "tweak" the machine for k series cos they all show high co2.

Hopefully it'll go through after replacing the cat and lambda. Have to say i wasn't expecting such a list mind.

My S3 (now sold :() went straight through

She might drive ok but with those brakes readings i'm surprised it stops!!
My last Mot readings were.
Front 490 Kg's each side
Rear 465 Kg's each side
Handbrake 415 Kg's each side

they don't build them like that anymore :(

mine had a split rubber on the bottom ball joint but i just replaced the rubber and the tester was ok with that as there was no play or wear in it.

cats are relatively cheap but lambda's are pricey.

Can honestly say I never considered the brakes inadequate, they did and still do feel fine. Did hear the tester mutter something about 'not used this in a while' when he carted a heavy looking lump of metal. Assume it was for testing brakes??

Not today but the other day I fitted a Parrot Bluetooth Hands Free Set.
Nice little toy and not gonna get any point using the phone now :D

replaced the crankcase breather filter with the BMW cyclone and fitted drivers door window regulator.

Old filter was in a nasty condition, glad I changed it.

Hi
Fitted Scan Gauge above mirror. Using the mirror mount kit that you can get from Scan Gauge (with extension cable) Had to drill and tap hole in mirror to mount post. Then run cable down trim at side of windscreen.

Found the reason for the mot emission failure.

Removed the cat and it was totally empty, absolutely sweet fa inside it. Whats all that about?!"
