Hello peeps,
\Advice needed from I.C.E gurus

My radio reception is poor. I've a Sony head unit [CD, USB input, AUX input, Blue tooth connectivity]. It's the radio which annoys me. It quickly loses reception - crackles.... no buzzing that increases with speed.

Things I've done: replaced the roof antenna mount, also replaced the antenna mast, the antenna roof mount has an extra earth beneath it which I added and the head unit chassis also has and earth added.

I like to listen to the radio - so what can I do to improve the situation?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a dashcam? I've had one before which made the radio reception awful - disconnected it and that sorted it out. I then got a better one with decent quality power adapter (cigarette lighter one) and it was loads better, still not 100% as good as none but significantly better than the first one.

Thanks for that - Yes I do have a wired in Dash cam. However, the radio reception was crap before I fitted that :(

Scrap the car😁 seriously though how old is the radio unit. Sounds like the circuit is knackered. Dabs are worse for failing because of the small chips inside sensitive to spikes.
