It's easy to mod the inner wing, it's a small cut with a hacksaw.....then bend the metal with a hammer. Then a bit of anti corrosion paint. :)

I'm grinding mine off, then getting it welded up. Leaving it bent causes a bulge that can cause the steering to catch, from what I have found so far anyway.

If you're going to start cutting lumps out of your chassis, me thinks you should do it properly as DD and Mick 1986 agree - I think. Not something I would tackle, but i am interested in those black 16' modular wheels that DD's sports. Can these go on my standard suspension without lift or spacers?

Yeah I do agree with DD that it must be done properly, and don't cut the chassis rail.

from the ones i've seen done, that have needed to gain extra room cos it catches, they have not gone anywhere near to cutting the chassis at all!

I've not cut the chassis rail......just the inner wing. And it definitely doesn't catch, I've had the full articulation plenty of times off road. And it is done properly, it's flat and sealed to stop rust.

Are you using the bearmach 2inch kit mate? If so what elce have you done?

Yes mate, with camber pins, extended Goodrich brake lines, 30mm bearmach wheel spacers, 205/80/16 Yokohama Geolander at tyres, EBC ultimax heavy duty brake pads, bearmach rock sliders, Mantec sump guard, custom small back box and lots lots more. :)

Ok. Lift kits are doing my head in:D there's different makes and different heights, some foul the body work some don't, best advice I can give is, jack it up go lock to lock and make sure nothing catches, if it does rectify it, but do it so it doesn't affect the structural integrity of the vehicle!

You can put them on standard, you probably won't be able to go as big on the tyres tho!

Thanks DD. Any idea on max tyre size?

That's a darned good question? Cos of the offset it does mean mine would fit, its whether they'd catch on the arch? I honestly don't know! Need a standard one to swap mine on to and measure stuff! 215/70/16 bfg at looks good on WLJ's one but that's totally standard suspension and wheels, hmmmm experiment time:D
