Cant hear anything but it looks like it sounds loud o_O

I finally managed to get around to fitting the Provent filter.
It was a bit of a faff making some bracketery to fix it to and the 3/4" piping doesn't like going round any sort of radius so I'm thinking I might try to find some more flexible pipe.

I’m adding a Disco 1 tranny dipstick onto the Disco 2 bell housing. I “think” I found a good M16x1.5 barb fitting for the tranny pan to connect the end of the dipstick tube with a rubber hose in between. Hard part is keeping the O2 sensor wiring and the vent tubes out of the way of the exhaust manifold to mount the dipstick.

For a Disco 2 the Disco 1 dipstick bolts to #14 area above the starter in this picture...

I took the starter out of our Disco 2. Their were only two bottom bolts to undo so wasn't too hard. It had decided not to start. I had previously cleaned the solenoid and contracts so this time I figured something more serious was wrong. I cleaned again but it would not run from a battery.

Is there a trick to reinstalling the new starter so that the gear meshes with the flywheel?

Headlight washers all replaced.... all working.

new front fog lights fitted.

Just the handbrake to adjust, and its MOT time.....
Hi I also headlamp washer problem on my facelift disco can you confirm which hose you used and what length thanks mine works but when I put it nose down into curb o/s/f leaks so thinking hose is split thanks

I removed the rear HD springs for the MD Terrafirma TF023V +2” springs. I’m also removing the Disco 2 rear spring plates and adding the shorter galvanized Disco 1 rear spring plates for an extra +.5" plus adding Gwyn Lewis 4x4 Disco 1 rear spring retainers.
It got dark and I ran out of beer so I’ll finish up the install this weekend.

You are going to have to remove the outer bumper and fog lamp next to the washer tank to access the pipes and motor. I fitted a new pump, pipes, non return t-splitter valve, and all hoses to the jets.
You will need to check all connections as the original pipe goes very hard and inflexible, and the plastic components, such as the pump connector, and the t valve can easily break.

If the pipe or fittings on the piece between the pump and the t valve have gone, then do not buy the listed part... its a lot cheaper to buy the t piece and pump connector from Land Rover, and a piece of pipe from ebay. But, if you are going to replace the pipes and jets as well, buy two DNH000060, as it will give you a bit of extra pipe. Also replace the rear metal clips to the jets, 2x DYC000190 as they may break on removal.

I checked the pipe on Ebay and it looks to be this one, given the dimensions I took from the pipe supplied with the washer jets...

It's not an issue as it only engages with the flywheel when you turn the key spin the motor up. When you do that the cog gets thrown outwards and engages with the flywheel.
I'll be doing this myself this weekend. I bought a new one for £40 off ebay. Then a couple of days later paid £14.99 for a solenoid service kit from X8R. Now can't decide whether to remove the motor that's on and fit the service kit and put that back on and keep the 'quality' motor as a spare, or fit that one and keep the old one as a spare...

Installed a suitable substitute for the V8’s vacuum connector for 15 quid cheaper than the Land Rover part with same dimensions.... Saab part number 55557389...

Thank you the new starter installed quickly

new battery fitted 5 year warranty for £135
front tracking sorted at local firm for £20 ( was only nsf that was off ) so no longer wants to chuck me in the ditch
tow bar removed stripped cleaned and greased up ready for when the new lock arrives ( snapped the only key)
applied grease to rear cross member that has a bit of flake to seal it till i get some dinitrol or waxoil on it did visible sills bits just in case

Persisting down with rain today - first time it has rained since I fixed the rear sunroof. It was "fixed" before I bought it, but leaked first time it rained! The sunroof tray torx screws were rusted and leaking, so replaced with stainless and sealed with butyl sealant.
Just checked. No leaks today.
Result.
Hurray.:D
