still got a fortune to spend on the chassis, axles, gearbox, body, paint , electrics, interior seats etc, who ever said landrovers were a cheap hobby!
 
aint cheap thats for sure,i have a p38 diesel,that has cost a few bob but its worth it.
 
tis me neighbours pontiac parisienne , 7.2 chevy v8, :rolleyes:

yer wanna see the engine in that, cost him £6500 to rebuild, ( just the engine that is) ouch

saw one of those when i was a yoof,bloody lovely at the time.wouldnt give the time of day now.my brother had a dodge dart gt many years ago,what a bag of ****e that was.:eek::eek::eek:
 
Stick with it, you will get there. I spent almost every single weekend for a year getting mine in a driveable state!
 
it will be on the road one day mate, am sure of it, a small fortune later mind, but its not like im going to sell it
 
Yup no doubt many people on here have spent wayyyy more than what their land rovers are worth on them! But who cares!
 
Coming along pretty fast now, like to see how you repair your bulk head, Be a good motor when youve finnished, keep up the good work mate!

Nice one...your spin on oil filter thing confuses me...I have a spin on oil filter already on my 2A...does this mean mine has been fitted with a later engine?

Good work though :) TBH I wouln't know where to start with a gearbox refurb - I would be so worried of doing my best, getting it all back together and in the car and it going "crrrrrrrrrrunch....ding" hehe!

will clean the gears fer yer mate, least they will shine fer one last time, then they will never see the light of day again :eek:

as fer the spin on filter rusty ! its one of these am fitting ;

the old fittings had a big bowl , with a paper cartridge, to save the MOD a few quid !:doh:
