Phew. Well I've finished cleaning the Rangie - not sure what to do about the mud on the inside of one of the headlights, but never mind.

Thanks to all - great to meet more of you and see some familiar faces.

I'll put some photos up once I've persuaded flickr to behave itself. Is there a better hosting site?

i know i said it before, but if anyone is stuck near or going past Bstoke - i am willing to help - yu could have pressure washed at mine if necessary (or i know a cheap garage close by).

the thing is.... I find the lanes really fkin boring...

I used to go down to Salisbury plain every weekend, and maybe that's what killed it for me... too much of it.
Everywhere I go on the plains, I've been there, so that challenger of driving something for the first time and trying to get through it, its not there anymore, as I know exactly where I can get through and where I cant.

personnally i think the cleaning although its a pain in the arse comes with the hobby and the fun and laughter you have with good company totally out weighs the cleaning u have to do after wards

its all about just looking after your motor so nxt time you go out its ready to have fun and enjoy it again..

jp u need to have a day out at somewhere like muddy bottom pay n play i would have a day out there with ya.

this will rekindle your love affair all over again with the defender as its very challenging and will find out what u and your motor can do.

I was getting pretty poor power to the wheels all the way home, turns out i did 90 miles with the handbrake on  how the only damage all the mad caused was to snap my handbrake cable is beyond me!!
Big cheers to BaggyJim for leading our group, had a really great day

Just got back home, all safe and sound, with no hiccups, no overheating and nothing broken :).

Many thanks to all who made it a great day- :)

Was like a mini LZ meet at Newbury today ,met so many bods there :D

cool..was gonna go to newbury but spent 3 hrs cleaning disco instead, thanks for the lemon cake it was bloomin fantastic:bounce:

Picked up a new gearstick Gaitor today at newbury so that may keep the inside of the 90 less muddy than the outside next time !

Also got a 10l water jerrycan as the 1.5l water bottle i had didn't cut it yesterday when I needed to top up with 4l after a geiser erupted from by expansion tank overflow pipe.

Well finally got online. What a cracking day out yesterday was.

Thanks to everyone who turned up.

Thanks to Boomer for turning up at 10pm with the vital brake tubing, that allowed me to make it on the trip. and for proving that even though peeps on here may fall out, spit dummies and have wild tantrums. When the SHTF all is forgiven or forgotten and they pitch in to help get the landy back on the road asap.

I got home ok with no overheating (the benefits of having no cooling fins in me rad. The mud just flows thru without stopping :D However it then hits the viscous fan and splatters all over the Alternator and kills it. Yep flat battery and no output from the Alt  I'm sure daft cursed me for laughing when he said he had battery light on and no rev counter. cos 5secs later I had exact same symptoms??

Went to Newbury today in the slitty van and had another great day.. Thanks for the Muffin Medusa???

I have sorted thru the pics on me camera, deleted 400 of em & have another 430 to post to me Photobucket. :faint2: watch this thread..

but see, i dont mind the looking after, I quite enjoy it, but I think its the driving that its not fun anymore...
I wouldnt mind having people over to get stuff done on their motors as i quite like that... but the driving, yeh think its gone, cant be bothered with it anymore

Touche Monsieur Pussycat ;).

Glad it worked out OK - my light went out after 5-10 miles ans hasnt come back - maybe a good jetwash in the injun bay as soon as we hit Bstoke. I know a place for less than £2 a hit :). Mind yu it needed 3 goes and a home jetwash underneath today (Thanks Doug ;)).
Time to strip off the diff guard before the mud starts rotting the diff .

Finally home with no probs:)
What a great weekend and good to put faces to names
A big thank you to Redhand (pickey)and Minty as group leaders and to Tazz for name tag,and 110 for the cakes
Also a good wonder around the newbury jumble and didnt spend to much !

Was probably the only one to drive through central London on way home !!!
I think i got more looks in the landy covered in Sailsbury mud going passed Harrods, piccadilly and, trafalgar than i would have in a ferrari:D
So landys do turn heads :D:D
