Looks like some of you have now realised why Salisbury Plain mud has gained such notoriety
Sets like concrete to rads and intercoolers, destroys alternators, gets in past stub axle seals to create grinding paste in wheel bearings, destroys prop UJs......been there, done that, got bored fixing it, learnt from it :p:D

Still bloody good fun though and worth the hassle that comes with it.

Bloody hell if you are gonna arrange muff on the way home.... count me in!:D

Been reading through the posts and looking at the piccys...(some brilliant action pictures there thanks for sharing!)

Reminded me of Herts trip down the Salisbury a couple years ago!

So brilliant that you all had such a brilliant time - should have made it a full weekend and camped though! The fun in the evening is almost as good as the destruction of the day!

Two people that do deserve a mention are Tazz & Katie for sorting out the name badges, it made life a lot easier actually putting names to feaces. Thank you x

Thanks, even I felt it was worth the effort in the end and must make sure I reciprocate MHM's kind offer to volunteer me next time around.

Well,21 hours after getting out of bed to go the plains, I'm now going back to bed. Just said goodbye to the wife and daughter who are off the Tenerife for 10 days. The only trouble is that I've got to get up in a few hours and start cleaning the Land Rover:(

Yup. As said, a really good day. Not sure I fancy camping overnite, but it would have been good to have met more of you. That was the only disapointment. It appears some had left, by the time we got to the sub pens. Would have liked to have hooked up with James M and a few others.
Oh - and Tazz.... Why should yu take any notice of wot I say? No-one else does :).

Suns out, hose pipe ban looming. Let the cleaning commence !

After I get back from Newbury 4x4 spares day that is.

I've just started uploading pics so here's some landy porn for you while I upload the offroading pics.

have yu noticed what the guy on the left is aiming at, ratty?

as pikey pointed out this run has a big log right accross u can just see part of it stuck up this prevents u getting this bit as all the mud get pushed up to it and u go no further

i think someone needs to don the waders and get a winch rope round it so it can be removed,it could catch some inexperienced laners out and you know theres peeps that go out with no ropes n stuff

mud.jpg

and yes i did get stuck there, was a little worrying when the mud started creeping in thru the gearstick and handbrake, but hey ho its all about enjoying the day and me n the mrs would again like to thank everyone some new friendships have struck up

got home about 2am this morning. Dropped the motor at my parents, ill go down this afternoon to clean it and take the offending alternator off.

For got to thank mrs s for the cake aswell as 110 and for tazz and your other half for the badges. sorry we didnt meet  have given mrs beard her badge she says thanks.

Thanks again all. :)

And the one on the right is checking a radio meesage ""what, the short arse in the camo gear, a quick burst?"

" Sorry, copy that again, who the **** is Drew?" "Gerrorf my wave band!"

Found a defender I think might have made submarine alley at Newbury 4x4 spares day this morning :)

Looks and sounds like it was a cracking day, wish I could have made it.
BGB the TD5 alt's dont like mud and water. I've got a spare one ready for reconditioning to take on my next muddy trip. If you are getting a re-con one, my advice would be not to exchange the old one. I think mine was about £20 extra and I will get the old one re-conditioned to carry around.
