Spent tonight fitting the extended breathers for the gearboxes and axles, I over looked the size of the tube fitting on the timing case but no drama, ordered that on eGay tonight, all the breathers are 6mm tube but the fitting that came with the 2nd alternators tensioner mount is 8mm, caught me by surprise but I'm not expecting to need to worry about deep water in the summer.

Also greased the props, quite pleased with the little pistol grease gun, I usually bring the big one home from work when I want to grease up but this was on special in my local hardware store a while back.

Relay boxes tomorrow, once I've found the reel of supply cable, having that massive tidy up and sort out has disorientated me a little.

Looks like the boot floor might have to come out again :(

The other side of the tubular chassis cross member has rotted out this time, left me phone in the house so no pics to post yet but it might be a blessing in disguise as it also appears the paint is coming away from the boot floor too!

Oh well, at least it can be saved and repainted, might even redesign it a little too ;)

No way!!! I was looking at those tubular member ends in the beginning of your thread/blog as I think one of mine is dead. I've ordered in a load of 2 and 3mm. If you do this after all these bloody weddings I can lend a hand

I'll bash it out in a day I recon, just gonna ring our fitter in the yard an see if he can order up some 2mm plate and 1.5mm angle and maybe some 1.5mm sheet steel for me, still got some wiring to do but none of it is falling apart yet so I'll plod on with bits an bobs in between green lane trips.

Had planned on getting the plasma rope spooled on too but that can wait as I want to be mobile for Sunday and have at least the relay box/es fitted!

Cool. You still about Monday? Hopefully my metal will arrive today. I'm sure I paid more than you as my new yard doesn't have fitter - all Northgate :(

Yep still on for Monday, might be a little variable on times as I will be coming to you from my early morning adventure in Romsey ;)

Steel should be stock price so very reasonable I hope, don't need much this time round.

Went out laning today with Davey, sadly Ed couldn't make it but we had a blast and it was so cool to see the Hants and West Sussex countryside in full bloom and in the sunshine :)

Just got to upload and edit some video footage and will post a video laters.

I need to get on this when she's done and actually use the landrover as a landrover!

Oh yes man!

Even had the winch out to play today :D

I think Davey has the best video footage, he'll post it in the next couple of days I think :)

Get a go pro, very cool, mine ran out of juice and swamped the memory card today so I have "some" footage :)

Was the winch on ‘that’ lane?

What route did you do? The same as last time but in reverse?

I took the kids to Brighton for the day. Was actually quite fun.

I took the kids to Brighton for the day. Was actually quite fun.

We did the route in reverse starting in Chi and ended at the Devils punch bowl, I first winched a burnt out car off a lane and on to the side using a snatch block and a tree strap to flip it over on to it's belly and far enough off the lane.

Then it was on the lane that defeated us last time, but going down hill this time, the holes pull you tight over to the walls and there was a root sticking out that has cracked my indicator lens, and had I not dragged the winch line up the bank and pulled the front over uphill I would have stoved the whole RH front corner in!

So far I'm very happy with that extra alternator for powering my winch :D
