Me and roy have been chatting to one of the organisers of http://www.bristolandwestlandrovershow.com/index.html His name is Mark Pattenden and he is a member on Landyzone as Discovery2man and he should now have a nice shiny orange username.

If you have a look on the website you will notice that the show isn't the normal commercialised show, it's for charity BLESMA

Basically Mark likes to set himself a bit of a challenge, and for this show he wants to have the record for largest Land rover gathering in one place. The Blesma challenge is to get more than 1000 Land Rovers into the shape of a Land rover for the record.

We are planning to have a club stand at the the show, and from speaking to Mark it sounds like it could be a very good weekend!.

So the question is, who is interested in having a LandyZone club stand? On the forms it says 8 vehicles per club, but Mark says that if we can raise more, he will find a way to accomodate us.
So have a look at the website, see what you think and Vote in the poll.

I bloody hope so:confused::confused:
Even if it's time consuming it will be well worth it.

Moving vehicles around when the site is empty is easy but when it's packed with people it can often take 15 mins plus to get from the main entrance by the security hut to the top end or back of ths site. If it's been raining hard it can take even longer as the roads aren't the widest and the pedestrians don't like walking on the mud so tend to use the roads and don't like moving out of the way of vehicles. Even with all the beacons on and the engine rattling away on my truck behind them they seem oblivious and reluctant to move over. It might be something for the organisers to think about on the run up to the event.

Happy to p[ay for the blesma challenge... but since kai is going to be riding shotgun with pikey and minty don't quite know whether he needs to pay or whether I can pay as a contribution since he will not hve a landy to hand...(actually he might but since he hasn't built it yet lets not count on it!)

no ive paid already for our vehicle.. its fine ryder, he is welcome to come with us. :D

Thanks Minty...

He is really excited about it and shows it that way that only a young teenager can!

Actually he is looking forward to putting some names along with some of the cursing that he reads on here!

I was concerned for a while about him coming on the forum and reading all the bad language... then he met Grippa - - - - poor lad's never been the same since!:D

not many peeps have.

We used to use this type of flag all the tiem when we were racing boats.

We used to buy the flags and then use cheapo Fishrods as the poles, being on the beach we could just push them into the ground i guess somone could make up heavy plate with a hole to slot the pole into fairly easyily.

The guy i use to get all my Tshirts printed makes banners etc, so can get a price from there if needs be, normally does me a bit of a deal if its for a charity type event.

Let me know if you want me to get any prices for things Accy.

I have a long Carp pole I also have a 3ft length of 6mm steel bar. stick the bar in the ground and pop the pole over the top. And Bobs, ya sisters brother.. and possibly ya mother as well
