Me and roy have been chatting to one of the organisers of http://www.bristolandwestlandrovershow.com/index.html His name is Mark Pattenden and he is a member on Landyzone as Discovery2man and he should now have a nice shiny orange username.

If you have a look on the website you will notice that the show isn't the normal commercialised show, it's for charity BLESMA

Basically Mark likes to set himself a bit of a challenge, and for this show he wants to have the record for largest Land rover gathering in one place. The Blesma challenge is to get more than 1000 Land Rovers into the shape of a Land rover for the record.

We are planning to have a club stand at the the show, and from speaking to Mark it sounds like it could be a very good weekend!.

So the question is, who is interested in having a LandyZone club stand? On the forms it says 8 vehicles per club, but Mark says that if we can raise more, he will find a way to accomodate us.
So have a look at the website, see what you think and Vote in the poll.

I thought about £150 quid would see it sorted and make the stand look cracking.. not a bloody chance i'm paying that!!

I saw em in the printers down the road and thought you had gone mad when you suggested them. He wanted £236 each plus vat. Surely it would be cheaper and give us something to do if you just photocopied big letters out and give us some crayons:D:D

I'm not too sure that some of them have the ability to colour within the lines :D

There are some monkeys at twycross who could do a slightly better job :p

I likes crayons:p

That would be good accy.. just a banner across the front would be fine.. and big enough for peeps to see. :D

Looking on that link i'd say the smallest one would be fine. 20ft x 10ft

It says 18 seated or 30 standing so should be big enough. Let us know what you can do :)

I did intend on having the form filled in and sent off by now but I wasted a weekend, and works a bit full on this week.

Anyway, just to be sure the people who will be on the stand with your motors are
Pikey & Minty fri Sat Sun
Fanatic fri Sat & Sun
RobinT Sat & Sun Not Camping!!
blue beasty Fri Sat Sun
Roy Fri Sat Sun
Accy Fri Sat Sun
Mud-4-it & family, Fri Sat & Sun
Ratty & Ballast Fri Sat & Sun.
110Woman Fri Sat Sun
Ryder & Kai Fri Sat Sun
Sirus & Connor. Fri Sat Sun

Making 11 Land Rovers in our Zone:D I just want to be sure because there are 16 people on the Poll that say they will be.

Also my plan was to get some nice flags to make us stand out, something like Mini Freedom Outdoor Teardrop Flag - Outdoor Banner Stands & Outdoor Displays but it's looking like about £450 with VAT for 2 of them in 3-4 metre form, printed and with a stand. So a re-think is in order and any suggestions are welcome. I wondered about a massive Gazebo with a banner on?? maybe someone knows someone that knows someone... before I spend a fortune:eek::eek:

We used to use this type of flag all the tiem when we were racing boats.

We used to buy the flags and then use cheapo Fishrods as the poles, being on the beach we could just push them into the ground i guess somone could make up heavy plate with a hole to slot the pole into fairly easyily.

The guy i use to get all my Tshirts printed makes banners etc, so can get a price from there if needs be, normally does me a bit of a deal if its for a charity type event.

Let me know if you want me to get any prices for things Accy.

Happy to p[ay for the blesma challenge... but since kai is going to be riding shotgun with pikey and minty don't quite know whether he needs to pay or whether I can pay as a contribution since he will not hve a landy to hand...(actually he might but since he hasn't built it yet lets not count on it!)

Hi Ryder

I never thought about that bit before. If someone is coming but not challenging but would like to make a donation then if you go to my website www.14capitalsin14days.com in the links box at the top there is a just giving link. That link will allow anyone to donate directly to Blesma. The site is current and will remain so as other challenges take place so will this site.

Thanks guys

Are vehicles on stands such as the landyzone stand able to enter the challenge? Knowing the site layout I suspect that emptying all the vehicles off all the stands and then parking them back on them could be interesting and time consuming.

I bloody hope so:confused::confused:
Even if it's time consuming it will be well worth it.
