Me and roy have been chatting to one of the organisers of http://www.bristolandwestlandrovershow.com/index.html His name is Mark Pattenden and he is a member on Landyzone as Discovery2man and he should now have a nice shiny orange username.

If you have a look on the website you will notice that the show isn't the normal commercialised show, it's for charity BLESMA

Basically Mark likes to set himself a bit of a challenge, and for this show he wants to have the record for largest Land rover gathering in one place. The Blesma challenge is to get more than 1000 Land Rovers into the shape of a Land rover for the record.

We are planning to have a club stand at the the show, and from speaking to Mark it sounds like it could be a very good weekend!.

So the question is, who is interested in having a LandyZone club stand? On the forms it says 8 vehicles per club, but Mark says that if we can raise more, he will find a way to accomodate us.
So have a look at the website, see what you think and Vote in the poll.

Ok, the form is about ready to go in the post along with a cheque for the extra club vehicles.
I was slightly wrong with the figures  it's £25 per extra vehicle which admits 2 adults. Any children under 15 are free. So it's only costing £75 to have the stand for 11 of us and we they are happy with the 18ft x 10ft marquee:D:D

I spotted these on ebay whilst looking for a green flag to print and put on Pikey's flag pole. eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

He can supply me 2 in plain green so i can have them printed, and a plain 'normal' flag to print for Pikey's pole:eek:

When you has got used to using your fingers and toes could you please inform us how much we owe you:D:D:D

I've sent a Cheque for £75 for the 3 extra vehicles which may change before the day if others decide to come along. As it stands I think the fairest way is £75 split by 11 motors so £6.8181818181818181818181818181 each :D:D

Top man and a cheap weekend too please can I ask if you are doing the challenge as well please please please complete a form. Thanks for all your support and I can say based on what I'm seeing here you will be the largest stand in clubs / forum section by a mile I think mark

You've cheated...... unles you used proportions of digits.

On a plus side I have put in me order for parts for the 110 so I might actually have a roadworthy Landrover based vehicle for the show.:D:D:D

I'm sorry but I am going to have to bow out of this trip as my work situation is uncertain at the moment and taking time off is not an option. Sorry once again but I think it only fair to say now rather than later.

Right, explain to me slowly, coz still got my bed brain on ......if youre helping on stand, camping for weekend how much does it cost and how do you want the money ?

I would think accy would want it on the day?? and it works out at 6.81 :D Its 75 quid split by 11 motors.

Exactly right. We were 11 vehicles but I think ones dropped out now
Anyway, there is no cost for the first 8. We have 11 booked @ £25 per vehicle over 8 vehicles (8 are free). So as its stands the whole thing will cost £75. Which I hope we can spread the cost between all of us.

Ok the flags have arrived and are now at the printers being erm... printed. I probably won't see them for a couple of weeks but will get some pics on once I do.

I have also ordered a banner to go across the front of the Marquee, and been looking at what we can do about BBQ's and lighting/beer cooling etc.

I'm hopefully bringing a Cadac Carri Chef Deluxe Portable Barbecue | eBay
which should fit plenty Bacon on! We are looking for a generator and at the moment it's looking like i'd have to hire one, unless anyone can get their hands on one for the weekend?? I have a couple of free standing spot lamps, and i'm sure we can muster a few more lights up between us:D
Roy is back for a few days and is just looking at some kind of super wifi set up so we can have LZ live in the marquee and enough internet access for the whole of Bristol :screaming_bug_eye_f

I've been asked whether there will be any T shirts available. I would love to bring boxes full, but if I don't sell them I have to pay for them. So if anyone wants anything let me know, I will get them done and there will be a few quid saved on postage. The printer has a new machine coming at the end of the month that can do cups, mugs, flasks etc so I may bring a few samples along hopefully.

I've got a small genny, 2kw and an 1800w invertor on my leisure battery for late night quiet leccy :D

Can probably borrow a string of lamps which are a bit nicer to be around than spots. Also got a few sacks of home-made charcoal and can lay my hands on 2' bbq.

I'll try and test my 2 emergency parafin lamps to see if they'll be any good.
