Me and roy have been chatting to one of the organisers of http://www.bristolandwestlandrovershow.com/index.html His name is Mark Pattenden and he is a member on Landyzone as Discovery2man and he should now have a nice shiny orange username.

If you have a look on the website you will notice that the show isn't the normal commercialised show, it's for charity BLESMA

Basically Mark likes to set himself a bit of a challenge, and for this show he wants to have the record for largest Land rover gathering in one place. The Blesma challenge is to get more than 1000 Land Rovers into the shape of a Land rover for the record.

We are planning to have a club stand at the the show, and from speaking to Mark it sounds like it could be a very good weekend!.

So the question is, who is interested in having a LandyZone club stand? On the forms it says 8 vehicles per club, but Mark says that if we can raise more, he will find a way to accomodate us.
So have a look at the website, see what you think and Vote in the poll.

so are you saying that there are both an easy (non damaging) course and a more challenging (possibly damaging) course?

Whoop whoop!

Btw Disco, I'm checking availability today for the Saturday and I will sign up for the challenge if I can

I wouldn't take a freelander on it personally but some might :-/ depends on the ruts and they will say no if they think it might get hurt lol

I have a long Carp pole I also have a 3ft length of 6mm steel bar. stick the bar in the ground and pop the pole over the top. And Bobs, ya sisters brother.. and possibly ya mother as well

Are you happy to bring that along if i get a flag made up? I've never been near anything like that to be honest and would probably just get the wrong thing and look like a tool on the day!:D

Blue Beasty has come up trumps with a marquee and I have emailed the organisers to check that they are happy with us using it. If so I will also have a banner ready to go over the top of the entrance on that.

So final numbers before I send the form...

Pikey & Minty fri Sat Sun
Fanatic fri Sat & Sun
RobinT Sat & Sun Not Camping!!
blue beasty Fri Sat Sun
Roy Fri Sat Sun
Accy Fri Sat Sun
Mud-4-it & family, Fri Sat & Sun
Ratty & Ballast Fri Sat & Sun.
110Woman Fri Sat Sun
Ryder & Kai Fri Sat Sun
Sirus & Connor. Fri Sat Sun

Anyone else want to round the number up to 12 vehicles??
Maybe as an incentive (and the way i understand it?) we have 8 free vehicle passes, and I hope that we can spread the remaining cost between us on the stand?? (opinions please) therefore it makes it much cheaper to go if you are involved:D:D
As it stands the 11 vehicles would need to find £45... very little for a good weekend away I think!

Perhaps ought to have thought this through a bit earlier, given my complete lack of any, even basic ,knowledge of landies, mechanics or anything vaguely technical ( good with colours tho  ) exactly what does "helping" on the stand consist of

Btw the words creche organiser, topless model or serving wench need not be uttered :p

You stand there looking good and people like me come up, do not tell you who we are, and ask all sorts of technical questions about Land Rovers. Simple really.

Yes I'll bring it. Do you have a Flag to attach to it??

If you wanted to buy your own. This is what I have. 7m Telescopic Flag Kite & Windsock Display Pole Fishing | eBay.
Then ya just need a length of 6 or 8mm steel rod (B&Q) to drive into the ground. Then the pole is dropped over it to make it stand upright.

The flag should be sorted hopefully:confused: and I saw some on ebay as a full kit so i've emailed the chap to see if he can get me a plain green one as well that I can get printed by mr T-shirt-man:D:D, that way we will have 2

Ok, the form is about ready to go in the post along with a cheque for the extra club vehicles.
I was slightly wrong with the figures  it's £25 per extra vehicle which admits 2 adults. Any children under 15 are free. So it's only costing £75 to have the stand for 11 of us and we they are happy with the 18ft x 10ft marquee:D:D

I spotted these on ebay whilst looking for a green flag to print and put on Pikey's flag pole. eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

He can supply me 2 in plain green so i can have them printed, and a plain 'normal' flag to print for Pikey's pole:eek:
