Just read though this, iv had memory map for a couple of years now but to be honest iv never understood it. but lately iv been thinking about looking for more routs around northumberland, so i thought ill dig out memory map. got it installed and working fine but looking and the lanes that are on the Northumberland Council site and compairing them to the maps iv got the lanes arnt there or i carnt define if its a byway or bridle way.

any help would be great as it looks like a few of you know what your doing.

Is it best to buy a CD with the maps or download them. any difference in price?
how many pc's can you use the maps on.

I just put memory map on my PDA HP Ipaq hx4700, and i get an error saying that it

"mmnav_os_eu-eng is not a valid Pocket PC application"

any ideas, I am using Pocket PC 2003

Sounsd like you might have downloaded the PC version not the PDA version???

Which is useful as you will need to install it on a PC too so you can sync your PDA to it, etc.

Your right, Ive got it all set up at last Anyone got maps of wales they could email me? ive got breacon and pembroke

Nathan - if you're still after maps drop me a PM...:)

Make sure ya pda is iplugged in to PC & turned on, Run Memmap and click the PDA section on the menubar. Then click "install pocket navigator" it will then install properly on the PDA.

Where isthe best place to get memory map from, ie price.......

Ya don't pay for it  ya either get someone on here I know at least 20 peeps that have a copy that they can copy for you. or download it off a torrent site. :D

Ere Nath ya should of said I had all the 1:50k maps for Wales, and Central & Southern england

I had em all off rik sat'day, the torrent ive bin downloading fer 2 weeks has nearly finished all the maps r 1.25000 :(

They can be very useful when the lane isn't very clear or there's too much detail on the 1:50k maps.

I can keep a copy of the maps on the lappy then, I was thinkin they'd be crap on a 10' screen

No the 1:50k are great for driving but Mem Map is great cos ya can click the scale buttons on the toolbar & it'll load the 1:25map instantly. and one click & it's back to 1:50k

Only 1:50k's?... Got all the 1:25k's for greater detail :p

HAHAHa. try all the 1:25k maps, all the 1:50k maps all the CAA Pilots charts for the British Isles, and if ya fancy extreme wading I've got garmin Nutical charts for the UK. :D

If anyone's got a copy :D

Internet speeds that slow here I'd be a month downloading it .

Did try once took day's and all I got was ben nevis  .
