I don't know what you are talking about. The L322 is one of the most modified Range Rovers available. People put manual gear boxes in them, coil over spring suspensions, raise them up, change the wheels, reprogram the engine computer, make the suspension manually adjustable, and many other things. I know all of that from this exact forum!

I literally said in my opening comment for people to not suggest that I buy another car but here you are suggesting that. I have read these forums for a year and I have rarely commented here because I saw people arguing about nothing and not helping.

Sure there are people who come here with problems that they need solved to get their car back to original, but that is not the only purpose of these car forums. Why should it be? Why cannot people change their car?

For example there is a long article here about changing the thermostat in the V8 petrol to a lower temperature thermostat which makes a massive improvement to the engine.

That is one of the changes that I will be doing now that my new thermostat has arrived from Germany. It is a very simple yet enormously beneficial modification to the standard car.

My situation is not your situation, my needs are not your needs. Why should I buy another car, why should I leave this forum, because I am not you?

Powerful UK is a well know company that exists for the purpose of helping many people modifying Land Rover cars. If people do not modify cars how can they exist?

On another forum RRPhil gave me excellent information about my idea although he could not solve my issue about if the new differentials will fit or not.

But he didn't argue with me that I cannot do what I want to do. He understood why I want to do it and he gave me as much information as he could which I really appreciated.

If you can't modify your car then I feel sorry for you but that is your decision. I can modify my car and I have made several modifications already. Some of them improving features, some of them making it the way I want it.

Without the money to order a custom made car, an easy way for me to have the car that I want is to buy a cheap older car and make changes to it that are legal.

That is exactly why I bought this particular car, because I have mechanical knowledge, there is no car that gives me exactly what I want, and I am not afraid to change a car.

My 2002 petrol L322 with modifications gives me the car that I want to drive to Portugal and back, and there is no other car that does that. All I need to know is if the 2.76 diff can fit into my car and if there are some reasons that I did not think of why that would not work.

So far I do not have the answer to that simple question and I have not been told any reasons why it would not work if the diffs fit.

Hopefully somebody will have the answer to my question and will post it here or on the other forum where I asked the question.
Of all these points you've made and really valid...
You can't argue about something you haven't done yourself, let alone shout at posts that may know more than you 🤷
I wouldn't ignore this one as I'd love to elbow the funk out of every comment made... But... I'll bite my tongue 😡

Im now wondering if I should read the whole thread or just float on by 🤣 🤣

This is getting fun. Maybe the op will give up & try elsewhere, or actually do it & present the results ????

Maybe the diffs will fit or not . . . .who knows ?

Will the engine last longer . . . .who knows ?

Will many of us buy an L322 that rusts quicker than an old Alfa (and LR hide behind plastic) . . . . probably not !!

Fit bigger wheels & tyres and a lpg kit, instant rpm reduced/cheaper fuel.

Change axle diffs what about the centre diff ratio as they dont match the transfer box, so what happens when you need
to go faster eg up hill when you need higher revs...now your motor has to rev more than before so there goes your fuel
saved on the motorway.

TBH I think its a ball ache to do the work and your not gaining anything, the money youve spent on parts/time will be more
than you would have paid at the pump on the trip.

Im wondering how the mot tester can see your diffs are corroded unless you mean the casings ??
£200 and a few hours to change the diffs versus how much money and time for an LPG kit when I said that my MAIN concern is the engine RPM and not about saving money?

Higher revs needed, just put the transfer box into low range.

I have 20 inch wheels, why would I spend £1,000 buying 21 inch wheels and tires for a 5% RPM benefit when I can spend £200 on different diffs for a 24% RPM benefit?

Yes the diff casings not the internals.

BMW did not look 23 years into to future and know everything about my current 150k miles engine when they chose the ZF5HP gearbox and diff ratios for the L322. Haaaaaaaaaaa.

This is laughable. They upgraded to a ZF6 then a ZF8. If the ZF5 was perfect then why upgrade the gearbox ever?

I don't know if you think that you are being clever with these comments but seriously what is your goal here? Show that you can't read, that you don't know anything?

And obviously because I have not done it myself I have come here to ask for advice from someone who may have done it or who may have knowledge even though they have not done it.

As you are not either of those people I have no idea why you came here to comment.

You keep talking as if you have some great knowledge or experience but you have never actually demonstrated it, and you have never asked me about my knowledge.

You keep telling me to get on with it but before I get on with it I need to know if the alternative differentials will fit or not. That is a pretty basic logical thing to want to know.

You don't know, and the only person who should logically comment is someone who does know.

Again I don't know why you are here.

Somebody might know if the diffs fit or not which is why I came here.

I stupidly thought that I could just ask a simple question and get an answer rather than getting attacked for asking a question.

Don't worry I'll leave this place to people who believe they know everything even when they don't know the answer to a simple question.
