First laning trip of 2018! Down to Salisbury again, I must say I do love it down there. Couple hours drive at the most and so much to explore! Didnt do too badly considering it was my first time leading. Surprisingly didnt get lost but did accidentally drive into a live training drill... Had a marine jump out of the bushes and told us to stop and turn around. Lovely fellow, wasnt in the slightest bit annoyed at us either.

Only saw one red flag which was good, few byways where voluntary restrictions which we avoided, bar one we had to drive to get where we wanted to go.

The 110 did very well, sailed through near enough everything, started to get a little bogged down in some water which was thick clay below but some right foot and out I got! Ran flawlessly the whole trip and running very nicely at the minute, at one point on the way back I checked the speedo and was doing 90 o_O didnt even notice, wasnt any louder, if anything it had more to give!

Start with videos!

Hurt my back a little going down here, was about vertical 1.5ft drop in one rut!

No one had been through this patch of water recently and in a cloud of smoke I disappear :p

Same crossing from inside the cab

Must say the LSD came into its own there, fair few areas I would have gotten stuck (others did) had I not had it.

LOL,

Idiot, going into a live firing exercise....LOL.

Please do try and avoid the voluntary restrictions if possible.
Been on the plains a few times and have never seen that area with the drop down that you drove , where is that exactly?

There is deeper water on the plains.....that was not too bad , Seemed a lot of smoke for a little progress and a lot of noise. LOL.

Cheers

Yes hahaha no flags or anything!

We did, just had to drive a short one to get through to the other side. As we drove down it was in pretty good condition though.

Not totally sure! We followed a lane that ran parallel to a gravel road for about 15 mins and came across it. Apparently there are 3 just the same dotted around. Friends got a dropped pin, I'll send over the coordinates when I can.

Yeah we found the deep stuff last year, I avoided as no snorkel. That wasnt really water! It was thick solid clay beneath, pushing it through. Tested it with a stick after, was just over 1ft of water + 1ft of clay/mud

After MUCH deliberation, research and help from you lot finally decided on the D44 lowline HD winch bumper!

Made to order so 2 - 3 weeks delivery.

Then to work out how to fit the TF A Bar, im thinking nut and bolted but may consider welding or a total custom job if the TF bar looks off.

Then painting im thinking thinned Raptor through an HVLP (maybe the Buzzweld glass flake reinforced version) or maybe the Buzzweld 2K FXLiner.

As for lights I think WOW.F on ebay do a set of 60w round spots that should fit. Meaning my beautiful and brilliant Lightforce spots will be up for sale!

This is the look im after

Postie brings gifts! I wanted some tighter more responsive steering, forgot about this till i was looking at some old build pics on my 90. Excellent bit of kit

Plus the rubber boot on my balljoint is fubar so im guessing it hasnt long left.

Forgot how much of a PITA this job was!!

2 hours in and the drop arm nut is still on. Drilled a hole in the side smacked it with a cold chisle. Still on.

Also for some reason its a 33mm nut!? Im certain my 90 was 32mm. Had to go buy a new spanner!

Grinders coming out now!

33mm exactly according to me calipers and my new giant 33mm spanner.

All done now! Took a lot longer than expected, trackins out a touch so I'll get that sorted tomorrow. From a short test drive the vibration at 40 is gone and steering is more responsive and tighter than before. Very happy.

I have to say for the hassle, I will stick with the original set up as I have HD arms and change the ball joint....LOL.

But fair play.....sounds like you have had fun today and earned a beverage....

Cheers

What RTC set up you got?

So easy to change a track rod not a steering joint. :)

Got the TF RTC damper as I thought it would help take some strain off the PAS system with the 285 tyres plus the added RTC is quite nice. For £80 cant really complain! Works well and does RTC more than normal

Every time in Kwik Fit. Been coming here with landys for 6 years, most of them know me now but still every time.

Me - can you check the tracking please?
KF - we dont track those
Me - you do, you have done quite a few times.
KF - oh ok then well have a look

Ffs

Have a nice little clamp unit to change the steering joint. Easy enough to do compared to trying to remove the drop arm, which I tried on mine for fun and gave up..that thing was tight.........LOL

Had the same thing as well, did it myself. They looked confused by it all.
