Are you missing a bracket on the bottom of the diff that the drag bar slide through? Think it was to prevent tube from bowing out Was on earlier motors( don’t think the large GL tubes go through though)

Ahhh thats what thats for! I assumed it was just another LR paperweight like the rear diff and tx box " resonaters"

Took it off a while ago when resealing the front diff, never refitted it

They work well and do restrict the amount of bend but don't let the larger bar through when you change it out .... (got the T shirt)

Underglow came in super handy as work lights!!! Much easier whenyou can see lol

Main job was going to be replacing the swivel seals and retainers as one had rotted through and starting to weep.

110 had other ideas....

No head left at all after I cleared the rust off. So thats a cut all the bolts off and weld nuts on job. That side also needs a ball which I dont have.

Thatll be a wonderful many many hours work ffss

Also painting the bilayer wingtops I designed!

2mm Stainless, shot blasted for better paint adhesion. Could have done ali but why? I have stacks of stainless off cuts and the weight difference is negligible but strength difference is huge.

Made a set for a mate as well.

Doing Anthracite as the base layer and matt black on top!

X2 coats of acid etch
X3 coats CIO for black
X3 coats DTM for Anthracite

Will let cure forma couple weeks and fit!

Magical drive home. Got half way back and thought hmmm smells very diesely. Hmmm its getting worse.

Pulled over and the FPR hose had come loose and popped out the head!

Managed to *just* nip it up by knocking it round with a screwdriver and hammer enough to get me home.

Not sure how that has happened as ive not had it off and it was last replaced 2020 with genuine parts.

Luckily I have a spare genuine hose at my parents house, so Ill pull the inlet off and fit that. As you cant tighten that hose without the Inlet coming off as far as I know!!

It's doable with a 14mm Mercedes Sprinter injector socket although it's a little bit of a faff.

edit:

Collected the brand new FPR hose from my parents and went about fitting it. I was reluctant to remove the inlet because its long so made a tool!

14mm 12 sided socket, cut down the middle with an extension welded on and grinded to 14mm sq.

Perfect size to both remove and tighten up! No leaks so far.

Also while fixng found the alternator supporr bracket was missing!? Im certain tit was there recently. So either vibtated itself loose and vanished or I never reftitted it when I did the alternator. Which in turn cause the union to slowly works itself loose and fail.

Lucky I have a laser cutter at my disposal so quickly cut a new one and refitted it.

Hopefully thats the end of thay saga!

Prelim fit up after paint! Fits perfect, but not 100% sold on the colour... What guys think?

The wings are not in good condition πŸ˜… heavily dented and damaged.

I have fitted them, they look good just not 100% on the colour!

Also fitted the D44 Winch bumper, bit of a effort to fit but worth it.

Intercooler has to come off so 3 holes can be drilled in the front crossmember.

Fitted the bolts with the nuts on top so if I need to remove the bumper I can without removing the IC again.

And fitted! Been a long time since if seen this face, exact same set up as my old 110.

Havnt wired up the spots yet, but I have run cable to the fuse box. Will get around to that tomorrow.
