Hi, brake switch failure ,there is a post about resetting the switch wammers posted it i think. The sensor gap, I have posted to see if anyone knows what it should be. Front air suspension shouldnt affect brakes electrically,no voltage at pin 1 I dont understand perhaps datatek is the man for this one. pressure switch ,I think that that is a big problem ,I dont think that you can change it(but i could be wrong} perhaps a pm to wammers and datatek could solve 2 of the problems Mick

Guy from Landranger (Stockport) did the diagnostics for me he reported that the pressure switch fault was because I had replaced all the brakes pipes and lost all fluid should be ok now as all back together. He also had never come across the no voltage at pin 1 fault?
Think my first port of call will be to remove the front left sensor and check it out then move on to the brake switch??

I have had no reply to my question about gap . I would expect 1-3mm would be there or thereabout. The brake light switch, is re setable ,I believe that you hold the pedal down and pull the switch pin out fully, then let the pedal back up and it re sets the switch. I think thats how it goes anyway

diagnostic results 5 faults in all as follows

1) Front left wheel – ABS sensor air gap too wide

2) Front left air suspension – signal faulty

3) No voltage at ECU Pin 1 when ignition on

4) Break Switch Failure

5) Pressure Warning Switch

all have been reset so now need a test drive to see if all is well??

any explanations from the experts that is landyzone??
Q3, is that at the ABS ECU ?

For no power to pin 1 ABS ECU. Look at fuse 27 or relay 2 engine bay fuse box pre 1999. And fuse 38 post 1999.

Hi how many pins . if 4 2 of the pins operate a coil ,which when current is applied, pulls a lever down and commects the other 2 pins together. can easily be tested by passing 12v through the coil and confirming that the 2 other pins are connected using a meter.

set the sensor up by pushing fully into the hole and when the wheel rotates it set itself up and the brake switch is how you describe it

morning all

just took sensor out and cleaned it and pushed it all the in, still got the fault!!

one thing is puzzling me the fault appears even if the car is stood still?
since I had the faults cleared if I start her up not touching any pedals and leave her running after about 5 mins the fault appears done this 3/4 times now and always the same?

thanks as always

Hi dont know if you realise but if the lamp came on after fault delete, the fault will be back on the memory. I think.

I thought so thanks.

just a thought could it be the abs pressure switch as the pump is coming on after 3/4 presses of the pedal and also I had a Pressure Warning Switch fault on the diagnostic check, its had a new accumulator whilst on this journey so im thinking I can rule that out?

I am no expert, my car has similar problems. The system seems very temperamental ,and any slight variance will upset it.

It does not sound like the pressure switch, even if the pump comes on every press it does not necessarily cause an ABS fault.
Something should show on diagnostics.

thanks datatek, im thinking im going to have to invest in some sort of diagnostic tool to cure this? any suggestions as to what to purchase?
