Hi All.
I've recently acquired a 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8. The cruise control hasn't worked since I've had it. When you press the on/off button on the steering wheel, nothing happens. I think you're supposed to get a green light on the right of the dash. I don't get any messages on the screen either.
I've scanned it with my code reader and nothing seems to be relevant to the cruise control. I've had the switch pack off of the steering wheel and taken it apart, it was a bit grubby so I cleaned it, but this hasn't changed anything.
Any ideas?
I'm wondering if I should just buy a new switch pack to rule that out.
Thanks

With the engine running you should get a green symbol like a Speedo on the right next to the air bag warning to indicate it's on, as for a relay I don't know but it is possible as the diesel P38 I had had a relay for it, guess you have checked all the fuses (and there's plenty of them) ?

Yes, that's what I thought. Actually I haven't checked the fuses. I was told the one for the cruise was also for various other things like the ABS, so I had assumed it was OK. But I'll check the fuses next.

I've got it as number 9 in my book (2008) which is brake light, exterior lights and few other things.

Do all the other buttons work for the stereo and the horn?

Looks like (looking at wiring diagrams) fuse 9 for 12v, ground, i-bus and a connection to the instrument cluster.

May be the clockwork spring?

No relays involved, just a load of control modules and data.

As a thought, is the brake light switch OK?

That's what I thought. I'll check it, but the lights are working fine.

Brake lights are working fine as far as I know. I've driven behind it a few times and not noticed any issue. All other steering wheel buttons are working fine. Horn, radio, heated wheel.

Wonder if there may be an issue with the yellow/black wire there, or the spring itself as they do break after a bit of time (although generally more reliable in "newer" cars).

Not sure if it'll be simple voltage or data but if cruise is controlled over that line then the instrument cluster relays the command to the other units in the circuit over canbus.....
The instrument cluster does pretty much appear to be the gateway to a lot of systems.
