So after checking each sensor all ok, started her up and noticed a pump/motor sound every time I press the brake pedal? Is this the accumulator saintv8 mentioned earlier?
Looks like thats the problem accumulator, best place to get one tommorow as mot is due on tuesday!!!
Panic!!!!!!!!!!!
Battery came off charge at about 1.00pm this afternoon, now back on the rangie.
So I take it its just the black ball shaped that just unscrews is all I need??
How often does the pump run now? Probably needs diagnostics to establish what the fault is.New accumulator fitted but still got 3 lights in dash!!!
Not happy! Any ideas folks???
No harm in bleeding the system as long as you follow the proceedure, unlikely to fix the problem though.Pumps coming on after 6 or 7 pushes, but lights go off then after driving for 2 mins they come back on.
Im thinking bleeding the system may be the issue? If I press the btake pedal about 10 -12 times with the engine off the pedal loses pressure then after a couple more presses comes back to normal???
so latest instalment of this saga.
started to bleed the brake system this evening got all the way to doing final op on rave (push pedal 5 times etc) when I heard a hissing noise coming from back drivers side wheel, thought it was me not tightening the bleed screw back up nut when I investigated further I found the brake pipe that runs across the car above the rear axle and chassis was totally shot brake fluid ****ing out all over the place! the pipe is really badly corroded.
definitely needs replacing anyone know the part numbers there are 2 pipes that run alongside each other rave calls them:
9. feed to rear left hand intermediate hose
10.feed to rear right hand intermediate hose
is it a big job? looks it looking from the wheel side too dark to go underneath tonight.
cheers guys
