Don't think so B. They probably use approved rotors and calipers off the self with a brake cable all approved by the auto industry to meet certain standards required by law and a few stamped metal pieces meeting to a certain standard.
Then have testing done and approved by government test standards, before being sold. So there is some R&D in the price and liability insurance on the product, which adds to the cost
Hmmm possibly, I'm happy to stick to the drum brake on my disco anyway
Don't really need a hand brake for the most part when you have parking gear at any rate
