galvanised 6 bar, with top and bottom bar being larger diameter, 2 vertical upright box section, incorporating 2 flat bar vertical anti rattle supports, standard sprung return non horse friendly latch, right hand slung (as in picture, could be other way as there aint a post) dual opening (see previous bracketed bit) utilising cheap adjustable threaded eyes.

Why is it 6 bar and not 7? :D

Does the bottom or top bar not count?

Can you get a 1 bar gate? :lol:
 
Actually the most horse friendly fastening is the old fashioned loop of bailer twine with the gate hung so it gently swings shut but not too fast.

Whoever dreams up these gadgets never does their research properly :rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
A 7 bar galvanised farm gate with twin vertical support braces. No horse friendly opening handle, right hand slung, unable to determine if outward or inward opening.

(Presently its neither as it appears to be leaned against a dark brown whicker wind-resistive screen)

Unable to furnish a description of the curvature of the gate posts due to it being unhung

Also unable to advise whether open or closed as it's neither, some may class it as 'out of service'

That is a 5 bar horizontal 2 vertical, with a spring load latch/slide bolt.

You can not count the frame of the gate as bars, either horizontal or vertical:p

I think more correct would be "hanging brackets currently not adjusted due to lack of gate posts"

Closing that would require the entire stock of baling twine from the back of my Landy :eek:

Didn't go into metal types normally, normally just the outline construction, angle of swing, retaining mechansism and the orientation of hanging.

More detail can be found with the examples that include diagonal supports as to whether they are opposing or crossed over etc.

Also, on gates that are in use, comment is made to the condition, which doesn't really apply to a brand new uncommisioned gate, still leaning against a whicker wall in the gate seller's compound

I'm not usually gate bitch and so have no need of descriptions, accurate or otherwise. :p However, my son has expressed that he would like to open or shut the gates, so perhaps after a CB fitting I may be lumbered :D :cool: He'll soon learn not to keep bruising his leg on the Disco's door! :(

And you do know that the person who goes last is responsible for recovering everyone who gets stuck, thats usually Neils job. I notice Brian sneaked in front of you on the last trip though :eek:

I do have a pic of a gate that kate ran over.......:eek:

cos the brakes wouldn't stop the series in low box without pressing the clutch.
which opened up a whole new argument as to when to press the clutch....
